Hi. Very good mod, but there are two kinds of problems: many red giant "ERROR" solid words still in many areas in the most advanced levels of the game, and at least two points in which the mod freezes crashing after a few seconds when a small Windows7 system window says that HL2 has stopped functioning while all returns inexorably to the desktop.
The first kind of problem hasn't seriously affected the gameplay yet and these red giant "ERROR" solid words seem to behave like enemies as some of them bleed with yellow squirts when hit by the crowbar, but no one of these solid words moves.
The second kind of problem did I solve, changing the last moment of gamesaving a short time before the freezing happens, but I didn't succeed in solving this kind of event the last time, when in the last level of the mod I get over a right corner in a corridor after killing a dark headcrab throwing zombie, in the dark area accessible besides the tub in which I come out entering the last level of the game; this happens after killing two hunters activated by a combine console switch, so I'll try to solve the problem playing the dark area before activating the two hunters: perhaps it's only a question of action order. Otherwise I don't know how to overcome the problem.

I also tried to repeat the passage of the little lighted corridor, but the crash happens as usual in the same moment a few seconds after the man is dragged away, just to see a door at the end of the corridor, always with the same system message, and I must stop the game, otherwise my pc stalls for several minutes with Task Manager equally stalled. Thank you very much.

Now I succeeded in starting Black Snow, and have been believing that the interferences during the initial short film were special effects of the mod, but at least the one, when the first victim is dragged away in a little lighted corridor, is certainly not a special effect, in fact, a few seconds after, the mod crashes with this message or something very similar (I'm italian and trying to translate it): (Dialog window title) HL2 has stopped functioning. (Message text) The search for a solution of the problem is in progress. Thank you very much.

Same problem than in Black Snow: there's a file missing in materials/console, but in Joutomaa the missing one is startup_loading.vtf. It seems that there is no software in the web for opening any .vtf file...

Hi everyone, the first thing that I did was, in the following order, installing and extracting only Black Snow (full version 1.05) and Black Snow Key Fix 1, but it can't start with a big white rectangle in the midst of the screen and no menues or options to click on, while a Windows-7 system message says "Error! Can't find background image 'materials/console/blacksnow_menu1_widescreen.vtf'". Is there perhaps a/some missing file(s)?
I did not try starting the mod first of extracting Key Fix 1. ?Perhaps my system doesn't need the Fix?
