Another slow day at work... been slow all week now... so you decided to go home early. But as soon as you start to leave, the combine start to break in. Entering the bosses office, you arm yourself with a pistol, and try to kill every combine you can, but they were coming in overwhelming numbers. You chose to get the hell out of there ASAP, only to be injured during the process and to find yourself hiding in a sewer.
You wake up, wondering what just happened. As you get up from a blood stained mattress, you find more of your friends already dead. Grabbing a crowbar, you work your way through the sewer to find help.
Claustrophobia is an Action/Adventure/Puzzle type mod in which you play a rebel in the Half-Life 2 universe fighting and solving his way through areas to get to safety.
The mod is completely free to play, all you need is Steam and Source SDK Base 2007 (Or Source SDK Base 2013 SP using the patch)
Greetings modders - I am proud to announce that Claustrophobia V1.1 has been released.
Some of you know the mod by it's old name, The Sewer, and through some thought, I have decided to rename it to something more proper, just like it's Left 4 Dead 2 version counterpart (which name was suggested by a friend), Claustrophobia.
But that's not the important part, one of the main reasons I've decided to update the mod after all this time is because Valve apparently broke my mod pretty hard, mainly missing content issues, but I've fixed all that nonsense now. I have also done miscellaneous improvements and additions to most, if not all the maps.
Also the mod is free to play now, all you need is Steam, and Source SDK Base 2007.

This patch fixes most issues related to engine branch incompatibility and is designed to run using the latest "Beta" of Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer...
Full release of Claustrophobia V1.1 All you need to play is Source SDK Base 2007. To install, extract the folder to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\sourcemods...

"Claustrophobia" is a fairly-well made user mod that is aptly-named: Most of the levels are fairly (though not 'exceedingly') "claustrophobic."
Many of the maps require too much 'backtracking:' That is, finding keys, levers, etc. and then going 'back' to parts of the map previously explored. For me it was necessary to use 'noclip' cheats MANY times throughout this mod...as certain doors didn't open that I'm sure were supposed to....and many instances of keys that I was absolutely unable to find -- even though I looked carefully for them....I was 'thorough to a fault.'
The map design of this mod is anything but 'predictable' -- it was also, however, a little too 'disorganized'....and in many cases it was too easy to get lost...
The combat level of difficulty was for the most part 'just right' throughout.....however, in stretches it was clearly too difficult.
"Claustrophobia" -with its many script errors and many required instances of utilizing 'no-clip' cheats isn't quite a 'keeper' for me, unfortunately.
I rate this mod a 7/10.
Does it Work without Half-Life 2 : Episode Two?
Hi. Very good mod, but there are two kinds of problems: many red giant "ERROR" solid words still in many areas in the most advanced levels of the game, and at least two points in which the mod freezes crashing after a few seconds when a small Windows7 system window says that HL2 has stopped functioning while all returns inexorably to the desktop.
The first kind of problem hasn't seriously affected the gameplay yet and these red giant "ERROR" solid words seem to behave like enemies as some of them bleed with yellow squirts when hit by the crowbar, but no one of these solid words moves.
The second kind of problem did I solve, changing the last moment of gamesaving a short time before the freezing happens, but I didn't succeed in solving this kind of event the last time, when in the last level of the mod I get over a right corner in a corridor after killing a dark headcrab throwing zombie, in the dark area accessible besides the tub in which I come out entering the last level of the game; this happens after killing two hunters activated by a combine console switch, so I'll try to solve the problem playing the dark area before activating the two hunters: perhaps it's only a question of action order. Otherwise I don't know how to overcome the problem.
Thanks very much.
In some HL2 user-made mods I get the giant red 'error' solid words throughout. However, when I played this mod, I didn't get these in-game graphical errors even a single time.
Out of curiosity, did you have the latest patch installed?
