Actually, the BR ACT in the book mandated that students had 24 hours for the first casualty, or the collars would explode. As soon as the first student died, they then had another 24 hours... and so on. So, the game could take as long as 42 days to complete if one student died every 24 hours.
We are working right now on at least 4 ideas that would encourage teamwork and deception. I wish I could elaborate on them now, but stay tuned for more!
As far as weapons go, people with projectile weapons, such as guns and crossbows, will move slower, jumper shorter, and be in first person view, all of which even the playing field. Those with melee weapons will be in third person. Also, weapons scattered across the island in hidden places will make those who get bad weapons able to compete... if they look hard enough.
