I have played this mod for over 2 years and have never seen anything quite like that.

Yes you were supposed to take them prisoner and take them back to Varys.

Did any of the raiding party route? Any time that i did it failed when they routed but when no one routed i found the book.

For me I got the message a few weeks after I completed the quest and on another save it took a bit longer so I think it might be random

you will get a message when they invade i think there is a Night king but the last time they invaded for me was in 1.3 and it's random when they invade the first time i saw them invade was on day one just after I left Kings landing

I think you might need to install the mod again because the only thing i can think of that might cause that is if you used Morghs Editor and either deleted some of the units or added some more before you installed the latest patch but I could be wrong I don't know much about how it works.

Did you fail the quest? if you did i don't think you can start the next one

the only way to get it is after daenerys has invaded you have to buy it from dragonstone

You have to go to Kings Landing and speak to Varys and after the third quest he gives you the body armor to get the rest on it you have to complete all of the Varys quests and them Daenerys will invade and she will take Dragonstone you should be able to buy the armor from the
Faction blacksmith their i'm not sure if you can buy it if Stannis still holds it.

To find the wolf there is a place called wolf den south of Deepwood motte and north of Torrhen's square but in the character creation you have to choose North if you want them to become your companion.

To find wun wun you need to choose Free folk and I think they are south of Frostfangs camp

I think the only way is if you have a minister and then ask him to hire staff

I don't think your culture can be changed I tried to change from Riverlands to Reach in a previous version but it didn't change.
