Sorry for the late reply, but here's something you should know. I've just been informed by Shapey that he invited two of his friends to join our group. I can't say we can consider your idea since the future of our group is still uncertain, but you can keep watch of any new developments if you so choose.

For any newcomers who didn't bother reading the article, worry not about new additions because this project is dead. I realize it's no longer worth my time to work on this mess of a mod, and some of the community members here are already reinforcing that point to death. Nevertheless, thank you for at least looking at it.

It intrigues me that even after the deadline this is still at a relatively high popularity rating right now.

Never mind the asking thing. It turns out the raid thankfully originated from YouTube and not ModDB. I'm feeling a bit more confident that nothing will go wrong in terms of security. Have fun.

I have no idea where the "Ultimate Mess 1.0" mod came from, but just know that I have never met or even contacted the guy who uploaded it here until now. I would just like to give a reminder that if a file is not uploaded by me or people that I allow, it's not official content and should not belong here.

To be honest, a lot of the new stuff is hidden in preparation of Project UV. When I said my two projects are merged, I mean that literally. By that I mean if it isn't finished now(keyword being beta release), it will be finished by the time Project UV comes out.

If you notice the date, it may be a bit off schedule, but the rar was packed on July 4th.

You may need to check your file permissions if that's happening because those "several files" might be everything the mod's got. I have never seen an error like this before, but from searching around I think your Windows UAC is screwed. Find a way to fix file permissions and try again is all I can tell you.

You gotta commend the creator on how much he recycled from other mods (one of which being a very primitive build of my mod) while someone like me would at least give two ***** about making my strange creation as distinct from anything else as possible.

To clarify, this map does work with the original Half-Life, the file is just linked to the mod.

In fact, I must thank your efforts. You and your friend's "very mature and effective" ways of berating and overall demoting my mod have encouraged me to push further and learn more about what truly makes up mods, all the ways you can modify it, and even made me plan a sequel/expansion. If you don't think I will do any better, than you should also accept that anything you do or say at this point won't make things any better for you. As your friend said, you're wasting your time. You know what? The only one change I'll let you know about is having your name on the "special thanks" list in the credits.

I'd say quite a bit, but since you and your little friend can't even be satisfied by me putting forth the effort of learning and modifying what any ordinary, talent-less modders can't even begin to learn or modify, I'm just not going to give you the satisfaction of knowing any specifics. All I have to say to you is you'll see by the time August 31 rolls around, and by the way your "highly charismatic and very discouraging" messages aren't working.

So just not release beta builds at all, or what? If that's not what you meant I'm sorry, but I really don't know what else you could mean by that. Unless it's, of course, a matter of me pushing them out too quickly? I mean while all other updates were rushed out 1-5 days between each other, this was 9 days from the last build. So if you want consistent build releases, what period between them do you suggest?

Well I could safely say from here on out it won't be as frequent as it was those last 6 times.

To me it's at least fair enough to be an unfinished build of the final, surpassing any previous ones, but take it as you will as it's of course subject to change.

From what I can see, this actually does remind me of the early days of my mod's development. When I had little to no skill on how to use GoldSrc, I did the exact same thing with that poor and lazy re-texturing. My point is maybe if you'd just put the effort to find something completely original, meaning not taken from anybody else's work, and also learning to use the programs involved(Hell, from my mod alone I taught myself how to use Milkshape). If you do decide to put in the effort to learn more of what makes up GoldSrc (in a seperate project, of course), I wish you the best of luck. If you don't put in effort and you keep down this path, then may God have mercy on your soul because there's going to be a lot of disapproval.

Okay, I get it. This is following a pattern of sorts, but does it look like I really have all the time and effort to "turn back and turn this around" at this point in time? Not really. So I'm sorry for you, as much as I want to understand and show empathy for you, but so far I have to keep going down the "uninteresting" path, the road less taken until further notice because I have a following who actually enjoys this repetition of said formula. One step at a time I'll finalize this as is with the same formula, and then I'll move on to making some sort of separate mod or sequel with unique concepts and maps to somehow make up for it once I learn more about Goldsource. It's the best I can do, and the least I can do for now. End of discussion.

When I come to it, maybe just maybe I'll make a separate mod that's actually "serious and worth it" for once in my life. But I could safely say now considering that it's been made popular by the people who like this kind of stuff, it's honestly too late to turn back, and that's why I no longer bother to even care about those who have their "no fun allowed" signs waving in the air. Really, you should consider yes there are mods that want to be serious, but then there's these joke mods that some other people in this community like as well and now I'll just have to deliver. I'm really sorry to say, but hell there was even an editor of a Polish mod website interested enough in this so-called "garbage" to host it on said website. I turned down that offer, but this uncontrollable surge in popularity is really showing proof of part of the community's interest. So think what you want to and try all you want, but I still have a following who's interested, even if it's a cult-following.

Well, hey. If that's how you see it, that's how you see it. I don't even bother to care anymore about what people think, and therefore I don't have to even bother going through with or even acknowledging your grievances. Sorry. Oh, and if you wanted an answer as to why, this started as a little hobby project to see how well I could mod video games, but then fate took it's course and it became popular. So maybe you could consider me not being in complete control being one of the reasons I don't really care anymore.
