Wow, you took that somewhat the wrong way. I wasn't doubting your commitment to producing something decent, I was merely stating that I feel if you are committed to this (like you seem to be anyway) you'd hopefully look into it.

But really, you're doing this for yourself. I doubt you came up with the idea and thought, "I am doing this for the guys on ModDB!", which is no discredit to yourself. But if you are doing this specifically for us, perhaps you would look into implementing multiple chapters.

And I wasn't whining. Read what I said properly.

I don't see how it'd be a particularly hard thing to implement... neither would it be a lot of work. Especially if he/they are genuinely committed to making this a decent mod.

Can't you just use the current 2 sets of characters set up in the game and do two chapters? That'd be a nice touch. Obviously, you'd wanna find a way to lock it so only one squad can be used... but least that way you can let people have a choice of two.

Christ, not a bad tutorial really.

I think what the guys have said above/below (I forget which order ModDB puts new posts) is probably right, bar a few things like the bugs. Maybe just note them down as things to watch out for, as I've personally never experienced bugs quite as serious as that really, but what the hey.

My only criticism of this tutorial is, despite it meaning to be a "basic" tutorial, it sure is wordy! I know you've spent time explaining and describing each feature, (which is fantastic really, good job), if I was a new UE mapper I would be scared off at how 'un-basic' this tutorial makes it seem. It looks daunting, in short.

I know that to do the majority of stuff you've explained in this tutorial, you could explain them in easy-to-understand bullet-points for a more ideal approach for newcomers.

Honestly, I'm getting fed up with having a Zombie Mod be announced for EVERY SINGLE bloody FPS game. Especially with 99% of the time they just die, like they should. So maybe I should be thankful of that at least.

Why don't you, as a developer of the Mod, try and come up with something original? It doesn't have to reinvent the game, or change any of the mechanics. New story-lines are always welcome, for example.

Hey, just thought I would pop by and let you know that I downloaded your Radiator Mod.

This was very different to what I normally play but I did quite enjoy playing the 2 chapters provided! The "Handle With Care" chapter was particularly interesting, though I didn't actually 'get' it at first, so I played through again and had a better understanding of the story.

You certainly have some interesting themes going on and I hope to see more soon!

Was it necessary to make an entire Mod profile just to show people your new wardrobe for Alex Mercer? Which, may I add, looks disgusting :(

If you're sticking with the white though, I hope you program blood stains in!

Maybe you can expand from this and make it so if the player doesn't get his whites cleaned after a certain time, he loses his mind, causing him to die. A laundry store would be required for this... or even Cillit Bang, for instant recovery...

I hesitated on making a comment like this, but I do agree completely. The universe and gun you are talking about is IP belonging to somebody already. Granted, Valve are really good about the Mod community and probably don't care; that is, until you start claiming it as your own, I reckon.

You could at least have said that you are creating a prototype, of a prototype gun, I guess.

What you're suggesting to change is (some of it) ridiculous and will remove the fun from the game.

Iron Sights won't have a chance to be used properly. L4D is a fast game, where the player is required to respond quickly to the given situation they are in, and Iron Sights will only slow the killing down.

How can you honestly deem having no Special Infected realism?

I'll be honest, I don't really like the sound of some of your ideas, but I'm sure there are some people out there who will appreciate it.

You mention a problem with not being able to enable the 3rd person camera properly in UT3. I presume you know the command line "behind view 1", which you can put into the console to enable 3rd person, so if you could get some code written to activate this upon level initialisation..?

Or there's the ActionCam Mod; maybe you could ask the guy(s) who created that, if you can use it?
