I saw a lot of people having an issue where they followed the README.txt guide to a T and it wasn't showing up on steam. I was having the same issue while helping my friend download it and when we were pretty sure there was no way to get it to work, as a hail Mary I recommended they put the portal gte folder into their sourcemods folder and somehow it worked. it appears in the steam library as a second portal game but with no logo, however it works all the same.
