Is this mod JUST for the steam version of Half Life 1 (not the Source version), or can I play this on the GOTY CD version? Cause I've followed the instructions and nothing happens at all

I have this same problem! Well, not the exact same, but it's like the blood and rain are covered by a shadows and the only way I can see them is if I shine the flashlight on it. I'll try reinstalling, see if it fixes the problem.

How do I even install this? The instructions say to drag, drop and replace in your root quake folder, but I don't seem to have the maps/progs/scripts folders in my root quake folder from when I initially installed this mod, so I can't replace anything. Am I supposed to? Are these new and you're not supposed to? What the hell am I supposed to do?
