By far the best way is to assign spies to your fief. Every turn it raises morale. Building schools in the villages also helps. By turn 400 I'd say it should help a lot lol.

For the spies sometimes they are caught (not sure who's looking in your own fiefs) but you have to pay attention and place more anywhere they get caught and the populace still does not like you

To assign spies have them in your army and right click on the the city/castle/village you want to send them to. I find I use them in my own kingdom as much or more then the enemies lol

Maybe I just can't add or subtract properly but it seems to me that the morale calculations are flawed...

Its tough to sift through everything. It's so much easier if they're all in one place

Actually I think the whole Viking Conquest fiasco has completely destabilized the entire game.
The Taleworlds devs made official "optimizations" to the main game for the new dlc and introduced a memory leak. Playing this mod before all those updates worked just fine for me. After the updates everything is now crashing and that goes for native as well...
