Context
Since the Steampipe update (2013), many Source engine based
game modifications have stopped working correctly, which
required to do special editing to make them at least
launchable.
Still, this method has proven not to work in special cases
such as mods containing custom compiled code,
.i.e Dangerous World 1 & 2, Korsakovia, along with many
others.
As stated in my previous blog, I would put emphasis
on fixing Source engine mods before working on those
related to Goldsource (Half-Life 1 engine).
This post marks the official development for the
source port of well known Heart of Evil.
Development
Progress showcase will be the same as in my previous
patch (1187): I will be uploading video footage to
my Youtube development channel. Source code will, as
usual, be hosted on Github for anyone interested in
helping, contributing.
A three part footage is already available for users to
view the already started work in progress patch.
Last note
I am awaiting a response from my application to a
company (not stated) and I am expected to get a response
by the beginning of February 2016, which I hope to
hear from.
Despite the fact that making patches for mods people love
to play is enjoyable, one does not make a living by doing so.
Therefore, I will be paying a greater attention to possible
future employers.
To resume this section, this will possibly be the last patch
in a while and I hope that you understand the situation.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Criticism & suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Quick update:
New development videos on my development channel.
See build (1.0.1)
- Improved chainsaw
- Added RPG
- Added Gorilla NPC.
Update:
It appears that the Heart of Evil: Source code was released about two years ago by the supposedly creator, himself.

From the description, a port to Source 2013 was originally planned but never got to happen yet.
I managed to adapt the code to the current version of the Source SDK 2013. So far, the mod works with this compiled code, at the exception of a few bugs, which seem not that problematic.
For the moment, I will attempt to play through the entire campaign, as well as "The Alamo" and "Village". I will let users know when this task will be completed.
Users might get a patch sooner than expected. As stated, I will keep you updated with the current status.
Thank you for your patience.
Update:
Good news. I managed to play through the entire campaign, including "The alamo", as well as "Village" without crashes/bugs that would prevent players from progressing.
As previously stated before, a few weapon bugs remain, which I hope to get fixed soon and possibly release a beta for it, as community help would be appreciated since this constitutes a huge mod.
Once all current bugs will be fixed, an official announcement will be posted.
Thank you for your patience.
