So I am working on our purchasing and customization system. As a settler on the planet you have some support from your sponsor corporation in the form of a space station in orbit around the planet. This station is equipped with capabilities to do just in time manufacturing. This helps the settlers on the planet with things they need. The issue is that the station does not ship with supplies.
Where do the supplies come from? You of course. If you want to build a new hat, you must gather the raw materials for the hat and ship it to the station. This allows the station to build the hat for you and ship it back down to you. You can also choose to alter the quality of the hat so the station builds it better or worse for a price.
This system is critcal to making Violent Sol Worlds an interesting game to want to explore in. You will be gathering resources so you can build better equipment and new things to help you survive on the planet. The first step in this process is what I am working on next, the store. We need the player to be able to open the store and see what all can be built. We are starting with laser pistols first and will branch out from there. Here is a sneak peak of the store that I have began to put together. I will keep you posted as the development goes forward.
Been working more and here is what the screen looks like a bit closer to having all the information about the gun and how to get it for your character. You can see the values being populated and also see the resource slots populated. I am working on getting the items to show in the resource slots next and that should inform the player what to collect in the world to get the station what it needs to build the item.
I've gotten the resources all populated properly with two values showing, one in black is how many you need. The one in red or green is how many the station has on hand.
