Years before the Russo-European War, General Aleksandr's leading expert in military cybernetics, Colonel Matvei Grigorovich Volkov, had made headlines with a unique "pet project": When Chitzkoi, Volkov's pet Siberian wolfdog, passed away at the extraordinary age of 17 years, Volkov took it upon himself to bring his beloved dog back to life by means of experimental cybernetics. Whilst many Russian and international scientists condemned the experiment as unethical, their criticisms were squashed by its success. After weeks of complex surgery under cryo-chemical suspension, Chitzkoi returned from death thanks to the implementation of several 3D printed bio-mechanical organs.
Chitzkoi had his blind eyes, arthritic legs and even parts of his spine enhanced with cybernetics, yet still displayed the same loyal, highly protective personality that Volkov had always appreciated in him. Over the years, Volkov further modified his companion with a mechanical jaw capable of severing flesh and bone, allowing him to act as Volkov's bodyguard during the wars in Africa and Europe. Chitzkoi's new synthetic eyes include advanced infrared optics that allow him to spot any hidden threat to his master and under his coat, an armoured carapace protects his vitals against small arms fire, incendiaries and CRBN hazards. In addition, the carapace houses a launch battery for guided micro rockets capable of attacking low-flying air targets.
