(Lore Continued)

Forged by a gruelling, uncompromising training process, the Rangers of the mid-21st century were one of the first units to receive light-weight powered exo-skeletons. In addition to advanced ballistic protection, these "exos" also feature an integrated networking systems for two types of small drones, one carrying the new MADAT (Micro Air Defence & Anti-Tank) missile, the other equipped with sensors for increased line of sight and hazard detection. The Rangers' standard weapon is the 6.8mm SCAR 2 modular assault rifle, fitted with advanced optics and an underbarrel launcher for smart airburst grenades against entrenched enemies. In addition, every Ranger carries a set of Flashbang grenades for non-lethal takedowns.

Cool! Looks like para-troopers of high altitude.
Will other factions get their infantry "modernized" too?

If there's a request, sure. This Ranger was a custom model for a client for his own addon. It's not meant for hanpatch.

Description

The US Army's 75th Ranger Regiment traces its lineage back to historical North American light infantry companies organised by the British Major Robert Rogers during the French and Indian War (1754-1763). During the Second World War, the modern day Rangers were raised as the US Army's first special forces unit and later saw action in numerous conflicts such as the Korean War, the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. In December 2021, the Regiment passed a record of 7000 days (over 19 years) in uninterrupted combat operations.

During the global war against the GLA, the Rangers continued to serve as the spearhead of the US Army in the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa, adding another six years of unbroken deployments to their record, until New Year's Eve 2027, when the controversial Zero Hour Policy of the Paulson administration reached its conclusion. The Rangers were among the last US troops to withdraw from overseas and returned home with a sense of defeat, betrayal and uncertainty as the US economy plunged into depression.
By the mid 2030s, the US had recovered from the crisis and once again turned their attention to global affairs. With China and Russia now in a dominant position over Eurasia, it was decided that the US would have to restore high-profile military relations with former allies such as Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom. After the downsizing of the US military, the only troops still in service were those of the highest quality, which would now undergo an ambitious technological and doctrinal modernisation - including the Rangers.
