I love the model, and I think the explanation between the ISD and ISDII is quite plausible. If we think about it, ISDs were kept in service well after the ISDIIs were introduced - there must be a reason why the Empire didn't just retrofit its older ships into the more modern ISDII standard. IIRC most of the Chimera Task Force was also made of ISDs, except for the Chimera itself.

So a fleet composition of ISDIIs escorted by more ISDs for point-defense protection while the harder hitting Deuces do the tougher work makes a lot of sense.

And the origin of the PD systems are explained as well, since the first ISDs were designed during the Clone Wars, where the enemy side had a vastly superior number of cheap droid fighters and bombers, so a capital ship without sufficient fighter cover/PSD would have been extremely vulnerable.

Am I the only one who half-expected a B-17 to show up? ;)

I always thought the death clones are kinda unnecessary. I mean, with those huge ships having huge reactor cores and devastating armament, when the hull starts to fall apart, it should cause a massive chain reaction effectively blowing the whole ship into tiny pieces. IMO a huge explosion and some debris would be enough.

What about Rendili StarDrive? (Dreadnought, Victory SD...etc)
Or Fondor or Sienar Fleet Systems? These are the minors, producing kind of jack-of-all-trades vessels?

Beautiful model, really well done. Although I'm wondering, how strong actually the MC80's really are compared to for example an ISD II. Because this warship has a civilian origin, I guess hull durability would be smaller, compensated by strong shields, but can/could/should these ships have a chance taking an ISD II 1 on 1? I suppose the ship itself is weaker, but its fighter complement is much better than the standard Imperial one so that could even up the chances...

No, it's an other EaW:FoC issue, the game engine simply cannot handle more than a certain number of planets and units at the GC map, no matter how strong your PC is. It sometimes lags to me, I have a Core 2 Duo 2.93 Ghz CPU with 3 gigs of RAM and a GF GT220 video card. If you want to see some insane lagging, try the Phoneix Rising mod in GC. :)
