Get out of here, Stalker! Just joking friends, come in and enjoy my constantly growing profile. This is the list of the games I play: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series (favourite), Far Cry series (also one of my favourites), Crysis games (nice graphics), Assassin's Creed series (#1 games when it comes to atmosphere and history), GTA (especially San Andreas), Borderlands 1&2. Oh, and I'm addicted to World of Tanks right now... Feel free to comment my images!
Working on a Far Cry 4 map. I was really amazed by the setting of the game which allows me in the Map Editor to create a really naturally-looking forest. The one on the picture will be a mostly coniferous forest, at the height of about 800 meters, in the summer, at about 18 °C. I don't know, but so far I'm very satisfied. As for the mission: This is a hunting map, so I will hide a lot of deer, goat, boars, badgers and other animals in the woods. Watch your step, at least two tigers will also be added. In the center of the map there will be a hunter camp, so far also a bit inspired by the game Skyrim.
Makes me wish stalker had density like this.
It'll be pure death man ! You don't want a creepy mutant hiding in there.
The idea of making a forest map is an awesome one Loner85 :) I'll happily try it out if possible.
@Mp5lng Let's see, I'll send you a PM when I finished the first "build" :) I'm not done with the city and the surrounding forest, therefore - patience :)
Okay man, I'm all patience :3 it's my middle name you know :D good luck man, let's hope you make a new mod like stalker for Far Cry :]
Far Cry 4 (in the regular campaign) originally doesn't have such a density as well, all the trees you can see here are hand-placed.
It looks like alot of work, but 30 m² forest are done in, idk, 5-10 min? There are presets though, with those you can place bushes really quick, but those are only presets used by the FC4 devs. Therefore they are not as lush as they are supposed to be (FC4 doesn't really run smooth on high-end PC already, now imagine an entire world map with such a dense forest, the devs had to balance it out). The only actual "forest" presets are either not lush enough to be realistic or really, really (unrealistically) dense, also the latter is immensely stuttery.
Another reason for me to hand-pick the forest is that the only coniferous forest type that would fit has this "frozen-over" look, not quite suitable for summer 18°C.
God its so cool.. is there any... "weather" mods? Something that adds rain? I dont play this, but my brotherdid enjoyed the game
As rain isn't even able to be selected in the map editor, I hardly doubt there is any mod to activate it :( Still wondering why the developers didn't do it, I'm pretty sure it rains rather often in Nepal.
Oh wait ! this is FC 4 !!!! crap, I thought it's 3 xD
Haha, FC3's setting was on a tropical island, you won't find pines there :)
