Hey, there's nothing I can do about the crash other than suggest you don't use the dx9 wrapper.
All this addon does is replace some textures and change some texture coordinates.
Can't speak for any other system but on mine, using the dx9 wrapper will crash the game no matter what mods are installed.
Just thinking, it could be a memory thing, how much RAM do you have? And do you have gentool and/or genpatcher? Not sure if one of them extends available memory to 4gb (32bit apps had a 2gb limit).
A doubling of resolution means a quadrupling of file size. There's a fair few BIG texture files here.

Yep, working with 1.87, hanpatch etc.
Just updated it with a few fixes for the generals experience/power window thing and destretched the main menu border for 16:9 btw so you may want to re-download

I've tried to recreate:
With Gentool 8.3, RotR 1.85, 1.86, 1.87 and 1.87 + hanpatch v26.2, it's all good, with or without the command bar update.
When I try with the DirectXwrapper it crashes for me on loading with or without the command bar update :(
Edit: For me, the directx wrapper makes it crash with or without the command bar update or any mod if fullscreen. In windowed or windowed fullscreen it is stable

Now everything seems fine :P weird.
Running with RotR 1.87 + gentool 8.3 + hanpatch 26.2 + d3d8to9 v1.11.0 works fine in fullscreen and windowed.
It should be compatible with any RotR installation.
