I created a 'gamedata' folder, then unpacked 1-9 and a,b, and c into it and it runs with no problems. Try unpacking the last 3. If that doesn't work, delete the entire gamedata folder and see if that's even the problem. It might be something else.

It's only as easy as you choose it to be. Don't farm the weapons and gear. Just leave it there and salvage and sell as you need it.

They made it so the installer deletes the gamedata to avoid mod incompatibility. To mod the game, you just have to use one of the many S.T.A.L.K.E.R. DB file extractors that can be found around the web, and use it to extract the gamedata.db files which are located in the Lost Alpha folder. This will extract the config folder as well as all the others. So you just have to make a new gamedata folder in your LA directory, and drag the extracted folders into it.

At the expense of embarrassing myself, since I installed the new patch, I can't seem to find the 'Lost Alpha\gamedata\config' file anywhere.
Is it permanently removed now and if so, how do we modify the game ?

I believe it's called 'trolling'. Maybe Mommy didn't give him enough hugs and he think's we actually care about what he like's or doesn't like.

You must understand that the people working on this game are amateurs like us who do this in their spare time for no money ! They do not get paid for this, therefore, they are NOT obligated to answer to you or anyone else as to why they don't take more time out of their busy lives, to work on it. Actually, I'm sure it's cost them money to work on this overhaul for the last 7 years, so a little patience and GRATITUDE would not be completely out of line on your part and if you and your pal Pierre don't like it, DON'T PLAY IT ! Just uninstall and play something else, you think is better.

As you have been given this game for free, you have no right to complain. You can always uninstall it and go play 'Brink'.

Patch 1.30020 was supposed to be released 2 weeks ago. We're still waiting............... :~(

Yes, we have a clue but whether or not you do, is a matter of some debate. This game couldn't be easier to install, especially if you possess the intelligence to Google "How to install Lost Alpha" but here we are....

1) Uninstall the game.
2) Watch this video.

3) Re-install the game EXACTLY like you see in the video and install the patch you see on this page, as well as the next one that's coming out soon.

You got 12k back ?! I only got a little over 6. Now I feel worse. lol

I lost 206,000 RU when I got my gear back. I was NOT happy. I worked hard and spent a lot of time farming all that gear and to loose that much money for nothing, was just wrong. :-(

Is this new patch EVER coming out ?! It was supposed to be released 'early this week' and it's now Thursday. I've stopped bothering to play, as it's well known that the new patch will require a fresh game and I see no point in continuing until the patch releases.

Where exactly do you find 'actors legs' in the Options menu ? I see 'Actors Shadow' but nothing about 'legs'.

"The file you have selected is not available via any mirrors. Please check back shortly as our servers update every 5 minutes." Is the file available or not ?
