I love to see those comments, with implications and overestimation's..."if something is named this, then it SHOULD be like this...." dude let me tell you that, if me as artist wanted to name my unit "flying pancake" despite the fact that it is NOT a flying pancake, there is no darn RULE that can say to me that THIS unit, HAS to throw pancakes.... now PLEASE, stop sticking to unimportant things, and let's discuss about more important stuff about the design, and NOT the name....

As for the first part of the comment, YES it is hovering, YES it is flying, as I've already stated 6 comments above...

@Rtys8, as much as you want it, this unit was not based on the ROL... I imagined it as a cross between the Death Star and the Zakat... that's about it's origins...

now for it's role, it is a low hp, ultra heavy hitter unit that if everything goes well, it will have two stages...
1) when it is not using it's weapons it will produce a really strong shield
2) when the weapons are activated, all the energy is transferred to the weapons instead, which of course means the weapons will be f-deadly :P

Seeing mods dying when people have spent hours, put quite an effort etc. is not "fun", let alone something that you would make fun of...

3)The drones HAVE the weapons... beams and energy projectiles if you are asking about the exact projectiles...

In the picture only the AA drones are built...
Initially when this unit is built it will come out with one type of drones, and the other two will be upgrades...

I want to jump in the conversation just to clarify a few things here and there :)
1st) this unit was not designed for the mod, this is why I asked if you guys would like to see it altered for the mod, as part of an Aeon unit, since it reminded me of the good ol' Sentinel that I used to like... Thus it means that it is NOT going to be a Cybran or a UEF unit (if it is indeed going ingame at some point). And the reason is that despite it being a spider walker, I wouldn't like a unit of this shape to be used with the Cybran forces (let alone the UEF) The reason I believe makes you think it fits for the Cybran is the color scheme it has which is quite reminiscent of the Cybran scheme...

That being said If you guys like it, I will spent some time on tim and alter it here and there to make it viable igame, and the idea that I have for its weapons is those three circles on top open as hatches and AA weapons are revealed from within (sort of the old Aeon Tempest experimental)

and what about the GLA? do they deserve some space tech?

They are not, I can tell you that for sure!
The cannons are modeled after a great concept art done for MWO...

no.... I haven't taken any inspiration from TAU designs, although I love them... the design is original :)
