What it means with "please run launcher from root director" is probably that you should launch the launcher inside the Root of Forces of Corruption (where all the files and your Mod Folder should be located at.)

to download you need to go to C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Nexus The Jupiter Incident\mods and insert the mod there. but remember if it dont work you need to copy the rendering file in your C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Nexus The Jupiter Incident\universe\engine and overwrite the mods rendering file
