On one Reddit post, there is this screenshot of Half life from a PC Gamer magazine with probably early model of nihilanth or controller from close up. Reddit.com
That is what was called "The Xen Master"
Interesting. I take it they decided to reuse this model for a lesser enemy and make a new one for Nihilanth. I didn't know that!
