:D the mod was created to help bring the community back together after the original mod was stolen. development is flying, the mod is fun to play, and pretty to look at. we're looking at a public release very soon, and all this was done in only a year's worth of dev time. it's been a great ride. =)

the mod is currently in private alpha testing. we'll update you soon with a date for a public alpha.

this is the mod supported by the original team.

we've moved away from the player models you've seen in previous media. we now have custom player models which you'll see in another media release very soon. incidentally, this is the reason why we've had to make new player arms.

I've deleted several comments from our profile from people who have mistaken us for Firearms2. :D

This mod, Firearms: Source, is operating with the support of the old Firearms team. The Firearms2 founders, however, are the ones who stole Firearms.

Mike, it's because FA2 stole the work of another mod, namedly the original FA. If you don't think that's a big deal, then perhaps you should think about the harm that did to each of the FA developers. And if you don't think that's a big deal, perhaps you can consider what effect this would have on the mod community in general if stealing the work of other mods was commonplace and easily ignored. Do you think many people would want to contribute huge amount of their personal time? No, this is not something that I think people should ignore.

As I understand it, they changed their name to Incursion mod because at the time the FA team did not want anyone using the FA name. We approached the FA team well after this incident and received their welcome to use the FA name. =)

FA2 stole FA ip, not FA:S. FA:S has the blessing of the original FA team. =)

FA:S also mounts the CS:S .gcf, it doesn't distribute CS:S materials at all - more pointedly, it does not distribute CS:S sounds. These sounds are being used temporarily and may be replaced for the public beta.

I just wanted to make sure it was clear that leaders of FA2 stole the original FA, and that this mod FA:S was created afterwards with the blessing of the FA team. You can read about it
