I got to the swamp and my game no longer functions. If i try and do anything in combat: Anyone have a fix or an idea of what any of this says?

I really like this mod and all of its new areas. I will enjoy the playthrough BUT... its extremely hard and unbalanced.. Example if the bard backfires the starting sax its auto TPK no matter what HP your party is at. (And it does 4x the damage vs what it does to any enemy). Melee can't hit anything consistently.. monsters never miss... Npcs in the monistary hit way too hard, there's easily 4x as many enemies than ever before I've played TONs of wiz8 so I am pretty decent at cheesing fights and battles but this is just flat out like new game+ or hardmode out of the gate. I got weak slimes TPKIng my party with draining cloud at level 5 because even with Rest All it drains at least double than what i can heal stamina for. I don't mind hard... but somethings amiss here...
