See it like that,

plans change especially if it is a huge project like that. Remember when GSC delayed SoC so many times and they were an even bigger and more professional team than Dez and his pals. Speaking of late dates, back then Lost Alpha started as a "old content restoration"- project but slowly it began to grow into more than just that, they started to make things from scratch adding new content that im sure cost a hell of a time and its something you will never see in other modifications.
You can't plan everything upfront on such a huge thing it happens with time. We would have lot lesser content right now if the release had been years ago.
Next thing is finding and most importantly keeping good people on your project while it is made and if you've been around here for quite some time you would know that people left during the process of making the game so not only does this slow down the process but finding new replacement eats a big amount of time aswell + these guys have friends, family, jobs, real life.. so yeah you can bet your *** that they will not spend their free time only on LA.
Everything needs time so if you dont know the reasons for a delay please have a seat and be quiet cause Girl please.
Right now as it seems Gsc will charge for it (maybe via Steam) thats why they told Dez to fill the empty world spaces to make it a more polished game.
Because of the engine modification it cannot be released as a (free) mod anymore and be realistic they don't have the money to buy the rights from Gsc, so even if it would be ready right now the release is not on their hands anymore.

Well since Stalker 2 is canceled dezodor and his team have a new task after the release of LA (!) ;)
In a few months a build will leak and they can start all over again like 3 years ago with LA.
But I think dezodor would be like "Oh no not again" :D
Well maybe someday there will be a "Lost Alpha 2 " based on leaked Stalker 2 material...but gosh here were are again with all that build/leak and concept art stuff :p

agree. Sergei Grigorovich closed the company because of personal reasons and he wasnt happy with the way Stalker 2 goes.
But when you think back how long SoC was in work and they still delivered it after 7 years something must be truly wrong about that whole story.
Personaly I dont think someone would fire a whole team only because of the reason the project dont evolve the way it should...normally you would change a few people you think dont fit or even fire some but a WHOLE TEAM?
I think and hope its just PR.
But firing a whole team and closing down a company :S

Its Offtopic but in case you miss the news GSC wants to release Stalker 2 with Permanent Internet Connection required.

Well thats means the end for the moddingscene..Gsc wants to go Hollywood with their franchise and kill the community they gain so much popularity from with this DMR..and lets not start talking about Stalker going on console... -.-

Sorry when im asking but I can't find any answer on this..
Since SoC dont use any detectors to find artifacts, will you make it a little bit harder to find them in La?
Cause in the vanilla they spawn so many times and you can see them everywhere so it feels like nothing special anymore..

Will you include a overview list (word/pdf) of all new changes in the final release file?

I think the little details will be build in later or near the release ..now they are on writing the story :)

on the very first screenshots here on the page everything is darker and scarier ( Moddb.com ) ..is it now still like that dezo ?

Will the room still be radiated? I hope so cause its more realistic :o)

In the video Dezo says that "each player" can upgrade their weapons , im confused :S

I agree with Chezzlor.
Really Dezor take your time and dont let people get u stressed.
We can and will wait.
To be honest I would even wait 10 years for this mod because I know
it will be awesome when it release and not some "Just more and new Maps Game".
Stalker is more than just maps..its ATMOSPHERE.
