Anyone know what this is? happening in the abandoned underground

the error was missing d3dx9_43.dll can it even be ran with directx12?

Is there a step I'm missing in the process, I've downloaded winrar to unpack the 1.51 download and extracted it from there to a folder in my c drive but i get a error that urges me to redownload somethings missing. Im downloading it again. Im new to Pc gaming and this games probably not the easiest to start on but i cant help myself it looks so fun and the community seems amazing. I don't want to start modding but just want the base came. thank you for the help.
