This is really cool. I'm actually a newcomer to SoF and I like all three games to varying extents and this mod definitely improves Payback's standing. Just the full weapons list being available throughout the game would have been awesome but this certainly goes above and beyond. Although I did have to remove the file that makes the regenerating health take a lot longer. I think my definition of "challenging" is a few levels below yours, as I can't get anywhere even on easy difficulty in the first mission like that, lol.
Are there plans to add any more factions to the game? I was thinking more missions where you fight the Italians, or maybe Vichy French in North Africa or something like that. Would definitely be a bit refreshing to not fight the Germans once in a while like in the Sicily mission.
Jojo, do the "bodyfalls" sound effects work for you when enemies hit the ground? For some reason they don't for me and it seems like it has something to do with the death.gsc file because if I remove that they work.
I figured this issue out, too. For some reason the United Fronts Sound Mod causes the Welrod not to appear. It also gives errors about missing sound files when some of the briefings try to load.
Okay, I figured it out. For some reason that I don't really understand, another mod called "JoJo's Ultra Blood effects and decals" was causing the bodyfalls sounds to not play.
Really? I just downloaded it again and checked the sounds folder and it still doesn't have the bodyfalls sounds. I even copied the old ones from the older version of the mod but they won't play.

I personally also prefer it the old way. In fact I already edited my own files to improve accuracy, but in future releases I'd like to see the old weapon accuracy instead. Sometimes it's just more fun not needing to ADS, especially while prone.
The new version of the mod is awesome and adds a ton of great stuff, but I have one really big nitpick that won't stop bugging the crap out of me...
Why does the mod no longer use the "bodyfalls" sounds? One of the most satisfying things to me about shooting enemies in this game was the "thuds" they would make when they hit the ground and now it's like they're made out of feathers. Even with the UF sound mod it's nothing but dead silence as they drop and it makes me sad.
