Raising the Bar: Redux

Early access mod review

Amazing mod, so I'll just list my gripes

- HUD is not scaled for ultra-wide or 2k to 8k (which Valve did for their game, and a mod this great needs, to have lasting power in the future)

- sometimes loading in a new area takes ages

- I loaded back once and where there was previously music, it had cut out, like in Half-Life 1, so the only way to re-activate it would be to start that part over. I hope this will be fixed
- sometimes citizens just de-spawn, like the manhack introduction guy. I think it would be better to show them getting killed

- not optimized too well sometimes

- had a bug in the beginning, when you wait in line to proceed, the guy in front of me turned around and looked at me, but would not move

- some lag-spikes, propably because of optimization of this massive world

- sometimes massive stutters during a quicksave

- default gun (m7) viewmodel is a bit too close for my liking (can be changed easily tho)

- sometimes the crowbar animation does not look close enough to hit the target

Other than those gripes, amazing mod, with many custom textures, skyboxes, voice lines, enemies, amazingly re-creating the early Half-Life 2 betas

Mod review

amazing mod, sprinkled with great references to nearly all the other games, even Half-Life 2 in some cases!

The very very insignificant nitpicks I have would be:

- the armor in the HUD could be moved to the left a bit, like valve did for the 25th anniversary, and the pick-up icons scaled properly

Otherwise I cannot think of ANYTHING that was even slighty bad, or even not-great. From the pacing to the atmosphereover the new characters and the frustating way the military think that emulates reallife, it's just amazing!

Early access mod review

lovely! unlike the main EZ games, this one actually has great industrial complexes, like Half-Life tends to have, and is not an eye sore because of all the boring metal textures and blue filters.

However, there is WAY, WAY too much talking in this, and the character who talks the most, another metrocop, is not only entirely unintelligeble, which would be almost forgivable (although not for someone like me who is not a native english speaker), but the worst offender is that noone, ABSOLTUELY NOONE in this goddamn mod has ANY SUBTITLES
