It's called 'Slept So Long'. I found it fit the proposed backstory and main antagonist very well, so picked it until something better could have been made.

I honestly don't know if it does or not. I could never get anyone to test it. I'd love to hear if it does or doesn't. As for further development of this mod, nobody's shown an interest and I'm low on time with other projects (such as a new RPG from scratch that I'm working on). So I don't expect this to ever get much further than it is now without a team.

There is no second bridge.

No, the mod isn't dead. Just the only member working on it with any -real- interest is myself. Proof of that being that not one of them has bothered to email or PM me on RelicNews since the site went down. All members were either stuck on their own projects with this one being secondary, barely interested in all but the easiest of work, wanting only to design things (actual work follows designing, which there's a lot more of the work), or so busy with school that they never finished anything substantial (note I said -finished-). The last is understandable, but not productive.

With my own life being busy working on my writings (which actually result in money at times), it won't be done anytime soon. I'm picking at it here and there, but the times of working ten and twelve hours a day are over. I also don't have the time nor the patience to actively seek a team again. If anyone else however wished to take the initiative to gather people together, or if any of the old members have decided it's worth pursuing with any real initiative, I'm not hard to contact.

In regards to the website, it went down due to an attempt in working out a new site base (PHP-Nuke). The coding ended up corrupt somehow and ceased to function. I attempted to troubleshoot it for a week or two, even reinstalled it a few times, then said the hell with it as nobody but myself and a couple team members used it much anyways. Screenshots can be found on Homeworldtrinity (more than what's here on ModDB), the only released vid can be found on youtube, and the latest version can be found here and on RelicNews.

There is the possibility of another release, but as I said, it won't be anytime soon. With this all in mind, I don't see this Crossfire actually being finished for years to come (if at all) unless others found it worth pursuing. Sorry to smite the hopes of any that may have been following this mod, but others apparently don't share in the enthusiasm.

I apologize for the late reply. Been rather busy here. Anyways, create a shortcut to your Homeworld2.exe, and add '-mod Crossfire.big' to the target line. Given that the Crossfire.big is in the right directory, it will work.

Thank you for your feedback. It's always appreciated.

As for the music, our composer is rather new.

Version 0.1 (Beta) has now been released. Until I can have it uploaded here, you can get it from the Crossfire website, or from the Relicnews Forum Crossfire thread (links to both above).

@Matter80000
I don't know what you mean by "eumm ints", but sure, you can post photos and submit designs (by descriptions, pictures, or models) in the suggestions forums (start your own thread please).

Just note that we aren't really intending on adding any more Progenitor ships than what you see on the ship roster. So your model would likely just replace whatever we are already using if it's better than it. This doesn't really apply to the other races as we are still adding new ships regularly. If you wish for pictures of a current ship then PM me on the site and I'll send them.

As for the modeling program I'm using, I use several, but can import pretty much any model file, so it doesn't matter much what format you use.

Thanks pheiz. Hopefully you'll all be able to actually play it soon.

@Matter80000 for ideas, you can post them in the Crossfire forums here:
Hw2-crossfire.homeworldtrinity.org

You'll have to register to post, but it's free and only required for security reasons (no spam mail, promos or anything except for thread notifications [if you choose to receive them] will be sent to you). We're always open to new ideas, suggestions, and designs.

As for the Progenitor anti-fighter frigate, it's already been made in a way. It's called the "Cleanser", is highly maneuverable, and strong against fighters and frigates. For weaponry it sports several rapid fire energy cannons with all-around coverage, burst missiles (one rapid-firing launcher), and one antimatter pulse artillery cannon. The antimatter pulse artillery is especially effective against fighters, but can only fire forward.

I believe that there's a picture of the Cleanser Frigate in the gallery above. It's the one shooting missiles at a Vaygr mothership.

As for testing, we aren't in need of any more official testers just yet, but feel free to perform a playtest at any time when the next version is released.

We've finished our first gameplay video. Until one of the other members uploads it to the videos section, you can get it here:
Hw2-crossfire.homeworldtrinity.org

Also, the release is again nearing release status (if nobody loses another hard drive). Thank you all for being so patient.

Now that the site has been released and it's running well, I'm removing the ship roster from the article here. The newest roster can be found on the website.

Merry Christmas and Happy New year everyone!

To commemorate these holidays, I'm releasing the Crossfire website:

Yeah regulus, we're still alive and kicking. We've just had a bit of a hitch, as a team member lost his hard drive an all the work on it due to a power surge. So the release is waiting for his to redo his work (which was roughly a few weeks worth).

Being that the release is waiting for him, I'm contemplating at least releasing the Crossfire site without it (I was going to release them together). I'm talking it over with the team now.

Thanks. Each race now has their own specific engine trails (save for the Hiigarans who use the stock trails) which are also used by the missiles.

That is not two ships simply 'stuck together' steve, it's a Hiigaran destroyer with half of a duplicate used, both heavily modified so they seamlessly fit together, to create a new ship, not to mention the new turrets and weapons, and required a lot of work to accomplish. This, and a Vaygr version similar in workmanship, were meant to be very advanced versions of the originals.

Yes it is, and it even docks the Dreadnaught in the rear like it was said to be able to do. We are using it as the Progenitor's mothership.

The Junkyard Dawg ship was featured in the fx mod as a...resource collector (kinda degrading in my personal opinion), anyway I extracted the model and textures from HW1, tweaked it a bit for animation, then added my own custom animations and fx. Now it's a capture unit again, but not as powerful as it was in HW1 for balance reasons.

Ok, sorry mathis, the server that contains those files is apparently down (though the links still magically work for me!?!).

I'll see if anyone has a copy of that version that I can upload to another server.

The download links for the three files on the RelicNews thread do work Mathis. I have even tested them again to be sure.

As I said to Luisboss, try clearing your internet cache and history, then refresh your browser and try them again.

Ok, luisboss. I'm checking that link now.

EDIT: All three links are working. Try refreshing your browser, and clearing your internet history and cache. Then try the link again.

Yeah, the latest version is there in the unpacked form. Just please keep in mind that that version is rather old, and that there's been a lot of changes, additions, and fixes since then. We plan to release the next version within the next few weeks.

Also, thanks for bringing this up since I forgot to include the RelicNews link. I'm adding it now.
