A part of me thinks that undertaking undoubtedly difficult reverse-engineering of an ancient game to mod it sounds masochistic and unfeasible with respect to popularity.
But...
A bigger part of me thinks that this is basically the nerd dream we all espouse, and the age and nostalgia of the engine is kind of... romantic, I guess. You guys're doing the kind of modding that expands people's conception of what's possible.
Just be sure to finish it. Take your time, though. ;)

Second that about the potential. I mean, MC blows my mind with how addicting it is already, but just imagining new maps and game modes makes me giddy.

Eh, not that I require more vorts for my nefarious plans or anything, it just bothers me that getting an extra minion slot would do jack crap for vorts, since they require two each. All they get for christmas is sadness.
Y'know, people's bitchery might decrease if minion vorts had their accuracy modified by level.

Yo! Cling was me. Not submitted because, A.) I'm slow, and my reading comprehension is only at a third-grade level right now, and B.) because that section in the forum was a teensy bit misleading.

Anyhow, I don't consider it that much of a loss, because I thought the inclusion of such a complicated (to code, that is) module would push the release date back and therefore be chucked. If anything, I figured that was just a collaborative idea to play with for the 1.8+ release(s). (Plus, this way I get to vote for poison traps for my trapper in good conscience ;p)

@ Grey: Hopefully cling'd be a little less exploitey than an outright climb. The way I had figured it initially, you could only jump, fall, jetpack, or teleport away from clinging to the wall. It's more like the middleman in a wall-jump (or a way to strategically use long drops) than spiderman-business. However, if anything causes those rooftop-exploit problems that you speak of, it's jetpack. I figure it's better to get all the features in and then map around that, though, than add features based on hl2dm maps, right?

Please tell me that Minion upgrade actually gives you two more slots, so I can have another vort. Eh?

The covenant has the power of not being in this game, Leon89. The combine get a damage boost when fighting near one another, and the rebels get a bit of health regen.

The faction changes, new modes, new weapon models, new player models... all of it is awesome (and a lot more substantial than I had good reason to expect, which is always nice)! I'm quite excited to get crackin' on some new suits.
But no more dm_tech?
;_; It was the best map ever for ridiculous pvm grinding. Can we have it back?
edit: this is not the page I thought it was. Balls.

I've only known about this mod for, oh, a month or so? Maybe a bit more. I probably just randomly buzzed by moddb (to see if The Real World for Max Payne had been released, in all likelihood) and saw something for MC. I love first person shooters with rpg elements, so it appealed to me instantly. I also secretly love a good grind, and smashing a suit against waves of monsters and people for a few hours until it comes out gleaming and deadly is too tempting for me to pass.

I wouldn't mind having Ep. 2 be a prerequisite, but that's because I have it anyhow. :p As for favorite modules, I love a high run-speed suit with strength and crits for melee hoedowns, but placing high-level vorts on top of lampposts and buildings with jetpack and then becoming invisible is some evil fun (especially with a mag mine in their view).

I also just want to say that I'm simultaneously ultra-excited for 1.75 and sad to see my current suits go. Knowing my level 23 is headed to suit-valhalla is a bit like waiting to cremate your still-living friend, but I'm so pumped for the new modules that it basically doesn't matter.

Oh lord, running man in conjunction with 130 speed characters will be insane. Going that fast (or close, since I love max speed suits) and clearing obstacles with duck-jumps, I'm always tempted to try to bunny hop. You guys ever consider a module that would change the friction for your character? It could allow you to slide for a bit when you hit the ground and do those ridiculous hopping strafes if you had the skill.
