Actually, translations have to be made manually. A direct link to Google translate is available in the program, pre-filling fileds with selected sentences.
In the future, more translations engine will be included, as well as the integration of Google translate API, to automate things a bit.
I just saw Yandex also provides an API, I'll have to do some tests with it.
For further informations on how translations are made, a help file is included in the archive with a chapter "How it works", you can take a look in it.

I also think massive replace is an important function, i'll try to incorporate this soon.

I took a look at DeepL but API is sadly not free; i'll try anyway to incorporate DeepL translations. Google has a free API, i'll try to do some tests with it.

Languages choices will expand, it's planned.

Previous versions of language patch 0.96 must not be installed (due to changes in fixx21).
Try to reinstall in that order:
-Base game
-Fixx17 to 19
-Fixx19 to 21
-Language patch 0.96

N.B: previous saves are not compatible with fixx21, according to developers (you can't install fixx21 if you don't want to lose your game progress)

According to the developers news, no very fresh news.
It seems some of them working on 2.5 version(bug fixes and small effects integration) while others working on 3.0.
If I correctly understood:
-3.0 will operate on a modified xray engine
-AI A-life system will be heavily modified (NPC trading with others NPC for example)
-Most of the levels will be recreated (or updated)
...
So there is still heavy work to do and since it's a small team, i don't expect a close release.

I also noticed this weird release note.
I searched for informations about that on the russian forum and noticed someone also asked developers, but no response from them.
