I'm sorry about the savegame quirk, another reason for me to step away from flash-only builds in my next projects.

In that case it's a bug.
What platform and what build (demo/full) are you running it on? It's been tested on Ubuntu, Win7 and latest OSX, none of the standalone builds had problem with saving the progress.

As there is no standalone flash player for x64, I am not able to produce proper x64 binary.

However, I've built an Adobe Air package for both demo and full game, now waiting for approval by admins. I strongly advise trying out the demo first. You will need Adobe Air installed, and as there is no official 64bit release, it might require some effort.

I'm quite mad at Adobe for ignoring flash in Linux, I promise this is my last game built in Flash, for next projects I'm switching to haXe which supports multiple native build targets.

The saving dialogue is there for two reasons: 1) to give each level a proper closure, 2) to designate a point of "it's safe to close the game now, progress has been saved" . So, from a certain point of view, it might be just a pointless fluff.

There should be two versions of the game for each platform - Air-dependent and standalone. The standalone version contains a complete Air installation, therefore you should not have to install the Air at all.
If that is not the case, please let me know, I'll try to get it right with Desura editors. Thank you!
