I'm an avid Command and Conquer fan, and am watching something like 60-70 promising mods for C&C or related games! Besides being a fan, I am the head Particle Artist for Red Alert 3 Paradox, and I occasionally make concept art for kicks and giggles. It's really well made and plays nicely, but on the art end I feel that the models could have been made more detailed and the effects could have been a little bit more varied.
All in all superb work though! Congrats on your big release guys!
Am I allowed to review this now that I'm a member of the mod team? Oh well, here goes anyways.
I have followed Paradox for about 2 years now. When I first saw this mod, all it had was a collection of half-done models, without textures, and a measly one in-game unit. But that wasn't what drew me to this mod. No, what I saw in Paradox was the vast amount of effort put into the story of the mod, its factions and the Red Alert Universe. And this was not all the developers' work. This was FAN-MADE. I thought to myself, "This is a place where fans matter, and their opinions will be taken seriously." I wasn't wrong.
Since when I started following, I have seen massive amounts of effort put into this mod. Massive amounts of time, creative energy, tons of developer podcasts, and a healthy amount of laughter and learning how to mod Red Alert 3. The team has made a public beta featuring a revamped faction and the majority of another complete faction, with most of the new content being made from scratch. This is a massive project, mind you, but the amount of progress in 2 years is phenomenal.
I am now a member of the Paradox team, as Head Particle FX Artist, and I am putting forth effort to help this mod succeed, But really, I'm just helping a bunch of friends I've met over the forum and Wiki page, helping them create a work of art. And I'm proud of it.
