It will work if you purchased WB before they changed the CD keys. Otherwise, it shouldn't work.
There might be unorthodox ways around the problem, but so far no one has reported getting it to work. If you manage, please share!

Your first comment wasn't even one day ago...
It's not a matter of Víkingr developers not knowing ****. There's nothing we can do about the problem, because it's on Taleworlds: their newer CD keys are not compatible with earlier versions of Warband, including the one that Víkingr needs to use. Blame them for their lack of foresight if you must.
You can check the TaleWorlds Víkingr subforum or the Steam page to keep tabs on events and such:

Most people play in the evening (8-10 pm CET or thereabouts).
This mod has been alive and well for almost 4 years now. It's doing fine as MP.
Make sure you follow the instructions, especially the one about not installing it as a module on your Warband folder. Víkingr is stand-alone.
If you don't see any players on the official server, chances are you aren't looking at the right time.
It's a bit of a secret (not a well-kept one, though), since it can be abused, but if you request help in the forum and you seem like a reasonable guy someone will surely help you out.
Rather than start a new thread about it, however, it's better if you ask here: Forums.taleworlds.com
There is an official server, Hildileikr, and a couple of private ones. Look closer.
Other than reinstalling it, I can't really think of anything. This particular issue has never popped before as far as I know, and like I said, unability to connect to an activation server sounds like a problem on TW's end. I'd recommend asking in TW's Tech Support forum, but if Native is working they're likely to just blame it on the mod. In that case, you might get more responses at Víkingr's Bugs & Problems thread: Forums.taleworlds.com
Do you have any issues joining Native servers? That sounds like an issue on Taleworlds' end.
That probably means you need to enter your CD key.
There's usually people in the evenings (CEST). For events, check our Taleworlds forum: Forums.taleworlds.com
There's a Shieldwall Event coming up on August 3rd, so stay tuned.
The official server, Hildileikr, should be there at all times. It usually takes a long time for the server browser to pick it up the first time, though, so be patient. Give it a couple of minutes to be sure and bookmark it if you find it. If it still doesn't show up, chances are you installed the mod incorrectly, so try again. Make sure you install it in its own folder and that you start it using the WSE launcher.
It should. I would suggest the usual - reinstall and see if it works.
It should work from any folder that isn't in the Warband folder structure. Are you running it using the WSE loader?
Look closer. Hildileikr, the official Víkingr server, is active.
It's standalone. As long as you have a valid key, it'll work, regardless of which version of Warband you're playing.
Of course it's not. Last Sunday we had +70 players at the monthly Shieldwall Event, we're expecting +170 for the Dněprŭ event, and even right now (usually a quiet hour for Víkingr) there's some 15 players in the server.
Don't spread false information, please. There's an official server (Hildileikr), which is active every evening. There's a shieldwall event this Sunday and a big event on the 18th.
It's a multiplayer mod and that's not going to change.
It's standalone. You don't install it on top of Steam Warband. You install it on a separate folder and use your CD key.
Did you install it on its own folder, separate from the standard Warband folder? If you didn't, uninstall and try again.
This is a multiplayer mod. There will be no single player campaign.
Did you install it on its own folder, separate from the standard Warband folder? If you didn't, uninstall and try again.
Typically that's because either you installed it on top of your regular Warband folder or because you didn't start it through WSE. Uninstall and install again on its own separate folder (Víkingr is stand-alone) and use the desktop shortcut to start the game.
Yes, you can basically install it anywhere you want, except on top of your regular Warband installation.
Uninstall and install again in the default folder (should be C:\Program Files\Vikingr), then click on the shortcut that should have been created on your desktop, or directly on VikingrLoadscreenShuffle.exe in your Vikingr root folder.
That's most likely the problem. As said in the description, Víkingr is standalone - you should install it in a separate folder and then, if you're so inclined, add it to your library as a non-Steam game.
