I personally don't really see the need for sea battles, but I totally respect that it fits the vision of your team.
Just seems like a coding nightmare when generally just an island map will do.
I hope they get ironed out, probably be pretty awesome if they are.

They are, I don't even blame them for leaving big gaps, it makes sense.
Is a shame my friends have moved on and I could never recommend my favorite mod, though.

It's a shame this is left in such a broken state.
It's my favorite mod and I keep wanting to recommend it to friends but it's not particularly playable right now, especially sea battles.

Skaven, the true inheritors of the world.
Our leader hit godhood before the Emperor even did.

There isn't a way to make things 'dissapare' from the shop in M&B's code based on your race.
If that's even what you're saying.
You write like you sustained a massive brain injury.

Godspeed Nameless.
Thanks for bringing us such a huge mod, even if its size means a lot of tiny things can go wrong.

I feel there's already so many factions, lords and towns that it would be detrimental to gameplay to then also have the Empire made of many factions, even with hardcoded diplomacy.

Freelancer was removed because it didn't suit some factions being many different races, like Vampires or Lizardmen, it also didn't suit that the player would have gear forced onto them they couldn't use, I think it was a good change to remove.

I'm so surprised I've never seen a mod where a sea battle is just a map on a small, flat island with the boats run ashore on either side.
Not that I'm saying it'd suit Warsword, but it seems like a pretty simple and satisfying way to do naval battles, more of a guarantee of a type of terrain.

Mine still does it too, mostly just with gear and money, but sometimes with stats.
I was just indecisive and looking through all the options and I started with about eighteen sets of armour.

I don't think so, but there's a chance.
Considering what seems to be in it, seems likely based on the devs posts down here it won't be.

That's not a mod issue.
That's the AI fix, it makes Horse archers evade and fire their bow, there were issues in native mount and blade that made it act up.
You have to bring SOME ranged, or you're obviously going to die to horse archers.

Oggy Boggy Wazkun baby.
And quite a few other characters all over warhammer, basically every race has a canonical character who defies that race's regular set of morals.

Are generic companions hired from somewhere or encountered as normal?
I have no idea if I've met one.
Edit: Question answered, they're just around.

Thanks for your response. Obviously the mount thing is purely subjective, I like my tournaments to be arena battles, and some players don't.

I also agree with the problem of allowing your own weapons, I think ACOK balanced it by allowing lords to keep their high tier armour, but of course weapons were lower damage in general in that case and it's incomparable.
I had the problem with the Wool Elf tournaments, in which I had no club.

Perhaps, as an alternative, a generic loadout per tournament?
Such as Wood Elf tournaments giving all combatants a bow and glaive, all Orc tournaments giving a Choppa/throwing choppas.
That way a character could take their skills and pick tournaments that suited them, rather than almost being forced into saving/loading early on simply because you'll RNG into something you can't really use. This would also mean the mounted loadout for the tournament lacked the ranged weapon. On the ground you'd always have something to deal with the cavalry other than just getting lanced by random chance.

Similarly I would expect Brettonian tournaments to be 100% mounts with Lances and swords.
Again, a purely subjective suggestion, but it would allow random mounts.

I think reducing the relation negative to 5 or 10 would probably suit more, as it would make winning them over by helping battle or other methods than just paying easier to accomplish.

That's a good idea.
I still feel like relations should just be at zero, you're choosing your race, not your morals or political inclination, who knows what your characters has done since.
The new Kingdom Patrol units mean you can attack them to freely choose your relations, I think they provide a great opportunity for gameplay that would be way better if you had a neutral start.
You can start fighting a faction without just attacking lords, which is really cool.

In a ton of Tournaments it's possible to start with a bow and no melee weapon, this means without power draw that round is literally impossible.
So, that's awful.
Also you can spawn 1v1 a lance cavalry.
I wouldn't say the tournaments are easier to win early game as much genuinely random, and you just might win early.

I feel like you've done the same thing as a few mods, where adding random mounts to tournaments seems like it adds variety.
The problem is the AI, if two or more Ai have horses, they just ride into a wall and line up, without room to turn around.
Then you have situations where the final fight is someone on a mount versus someone who isn't.
The old tournaments were much more fair and interesting overall, these new ones are plagued by the AI horse control bug, which I'm very sure can't be fixed.
I think most players are going to just ignore the tournaments, they're far too random and unpredictable, at least before it was basically just ever more challenging fights culminating in a difficult 1v1, rather than something genuinely random.
Perhaps the approach of letting players keep their weapons? It means the AI can keep their armour, and just treat it like small skirmishes.
Then you could at least bring a pike.

This and the inability to reset relations (So you couldn't roleplay say, a classy Skaven, or a betrayer sigmarin, because your relations are absolutely set to your race to an almost irrecoverable negative) are the only changes I think are out of place though. Really enjoying the mod as a whole and people might disagree with me, I just really think the random mounts in tournaments are only ever going to make a buggier, less balanced experience.

You're amazing devs, and this guy is pretty ungrateful.
It was a two year patch for a free mod, give them some ******* breathing room. Most AAA games are buggier than this day one.

I would think because of both the issues it causes with it gluing on armour/weapons that don't suit your race choice and that it allows you to get a free set of some of the best items in the game completely for free.
Probably mostly the first, freelancer doesn't go well with racial armour limitations, but it also genuinely imbalanced the game to be able to walk away with the best gear for a minor relations loss.

That and the bugs with giving the items to companions to stop them despawning, etc.

? I don't want Freelancer back, I'm fully aware it's removed.
I'm saying there should be another way to start with neutral relations.
Where did I ever express confusion about the removal of freelancer, I know why it's gone, but this utility function of it isn't mimicked elsewhere.

You might want to consider reading so much as the comment you're trying to talk down before being an ***.

Without Freelancer, there seems to be no way to start with neutral relations.
This kind of sucks, as it locks you out of certain neutral playthroughs like a trader or tournament fighter.
I feel like this is a pretty negative thing, it really just gives you less options.

COMPANION
ARMY
But really, thank you so much for that change, especially the no likes and dislikes, I love that it also means you can properly cater a group from any race.
You're the best.
I want that in every mod to be honest.

ACOK 2.2
It's amazing so far, especially Essos.
I've found a bug with Lys, most of the invading force spawns outside of the map,
I think the map barriers are too small for a 150+ army size.
Even down to 50, some do spawn outside the fence.
