Greetings.

This is a good mod.
I sorta came "late to the party," and only "discovered" M&B:W and "1860s Old America" (v1.1) a short time ago.
I was interested in the American Civil War aspect, and this mod was one of the (very) few that covered that.
And was more "finished and polished" than any others, and the Mod Author was still active, and continuing to work on it (a rarity in itself ...)

And, lookee here now! Got me a brand shiny new update (v1.5), without any effort on my part!
[But, a LOT of effort, on Gabrilduro's (and team) part. Just sayin' ...]

Anyway, I'm quite pleased. The mod is very stable and plays well for me.
I haven't encountered any of the problems others have reported (but then, I read the READMEs ...).
The American Civil War is only a portion of the total tapestry of "1860s Old America," so there is PLENTY to see and do.
V1.5 seems to deliver all of the promised content described in the pre-release announcements -- and its a long list -- and some additional goodies, besides.
[I'll let you discover those for yourself -- that's part of the fun!!]

Gabrilduro has stated that he sort of favors playing the Native Americans, so possibly playing for, or aligning with, that Faction might result in an "easier" game play experience/quicker progression.
Only way to find out, is to try it, and see.

Hmmm ... Wonder if I could set up an alliance between Native Americans and the Confederacy [with myself as Marshal, of course], and try to change history?
Have to try that.
The underdogs shall have their day!

And for all this "entertainment value," I'm only asked to give it a rating? Good Heavens, I'm happy to do that!
[As soon as I figure out which of these buttons I'm supposed to push. Wait a minute! Aha! Under "Reviews." OK, Got it. I'm good].
I sure don't expect any "reward."
[I've got The Lottery for that, and it costs me a buck each time ...]
Besides, I've already got my reward -- "1860s Old America v1.5"

Thank You, Gabrilduro.
Good Job.

Of course, you can't always believe everything us RPG gamers might say, you know?
We're all "role-players," after all ...

Gotcha!, "Gabey"

Seriously, many thanks for your hard work.

WARNING - to any Windows 8 (or 8.1) users --
You will probably get an Error Message saying Windows Smartscreen has blocked you from downloading this file.
You'll have to turn it off first, or tell it to "download anyway."

The file is perfectly safe (according to Trend Micro Security and Norton Antivirus). It's just Microsoft trying to be "helpful" again, but just being a pain in the butt.

Oh, before I forget --
Big Thank You! to Dentho10 and team, for bringing us this!
Should be fun.
Keep up the good work.

Yep. Bard I was dead at the time of the War of the Ring.
His grandson (Brand) was king of Dale at that time, and is mentioned in the last book of the LOTR trilogy as fighting the hosts of Mordor up north, along with the dwarves.
His son (Bard II) succeeded him.
And the troops up there were sometimes referred to as "bardings" rather than "dalemen."

Greetings

If you play this mod the "right" way (by meeting Aragorn almost immediately), you will get 7 Companions right off the bat, who constantly complain and bicker, and whine to you about each other.
That bother you? Did me.
It's apparently a "feature" of the original M&B:W that most newer mods eliminate (or give you the option to eliminate, such as by incorporating PBOD).

If you look at the FAQ link for this mod, the developers stated that ".. it takes a long time.." and ".. we're working on it .."

Well, "work" apparently stopped time ago...

Anyway, if you enjoy this mod, but are sick of the whining, the answer can be found here --

Very simple edit, using Notepad. I can verify that it works in "Blood in the West," since the number sequence in question occurs in the exact same place as in "Native."

Hope some of you find this information helpful.

We miss you already, Docm.
Keep up the good work!
[And, please don't make me go into the Steam labyrinth ...]
