Getting kinda strange things like invisible fiends and some blank/black textures.

Wanted to play this mod after playing a little bit a year ago and now it crashes during map start. It will load the level then just crash to desktop. I tried using windows xp compatiblity, disabling user account controls, launching through both the mod and bat file, launching as administrator. One thing to note is the resolution is not my native screen 1440x900. Is this the problem? Quake 4 itself works fine though.
