install the rtcw patches, because you need these pk3's too

by 'running the game' do you mean starting rtcw, or starting rtcwcoop ?

There is an rtcwcoop executable that you need to double click. (make sure you don't extract rtcwcoop in a subfolder of your rtcw folder)

I was already wondering if it worked on 10.8, as I dev it on 10.7 so I cannot test it under 10.8 :)

just put the pk3's in the rtcwcoop main folder and play on a non pure server, or start a server yourself
