I have this exact same issue, too. It looks like it's supposed to run off GZ or something more recent. PRBoom doesn't accept it, and that's as far as I'm going to test source port compatibility.

So, are we going to get an update soon that fixes the broken guns? It's going to suck having such a beautiful mod promising extended gunplay & more combat options for the player, only for them to realize every gun crashes the game upon making contact with an enemy & leaves only melee + the gravity gun as their sole combat options.

Also, can we get an option in the in-game options menu to bind a key to ironsights? I can't find them in there, I don't remember the command used for ironsights, & it'd possibly be simpler to have it in the options instead of digging through config.cfg to try and find what you're looking for.

I've also been having this issue, but it seems like it's the pistol itself that's causing issues. CM has no relation to this issue. It seems MMod itself might be at fault here.

I'm running the HL2U version of MMod & it's the exact same crash.
Doing some testing, it's only when a pistol bullet hits an enemy. Changing the bullet type from projectile to hitscan doesn't help.
Gonna do some more testing to see if the other weapons are game crashers. Melee-only Route Kanals time, since I forget which map gives you the SMG for the first time.

Edit 1: Firing at other props like explosive barrels & wood are perfectly safe. That's the only method to kill enemies atm.

Edit 2: It seems like it's only weapons that go in the player's hands hitting an enemy (Barnacles included) crash the game. The displacement gun on its stand works fine & kills enemies without a crash, but as soon as you dismount it, hitting an enemy crashes the game.

Edit 3: Yep, all guns are affected. Getting the SMG & trying to fire at an enemy crashes the game. I'd go through the entire game melee-only to confirm, but that's all the confirmation I need. That is crazy & pretty much makes the mod unplayable without the use of sv_cheats, noclip & liberal use of godmode. Unless you're skilled enough to go all the way to Breen with nothing but a crowbar, a stunstick, & possibly the gravity gun. Me? Not even close.
