I did try to play for a while without the player position on the map back in 1.2.3. I think it's a fun challenge aspect but, personally, I prefer the old vanilla style, and also I play at low resolutions so the GPS is a bit blurry.

I spent some time yesterday comparing the files from 1.2.3 with player position and 1.2.4, so I eventually did find out how to bring it back but I'm glad you explained it anyway in case anyone else is interested.

Thanks for developing this great mod!

Chance for a 1.2.4 variant with player position soon? Or all of the other variants in general (that's just the one I actually use).
