One of the ideas that the Team plans to implement is the "Subtitles". This is going to supply Player with real-time information about what stalkers in the vicinity are talking about, including jokes, stories, screams and exclamations (e.g. during combat).
We very much hope to realize the feature in the upcoming 0693 version, but for certain reasons it may be postponed till v0.7.

It is the possibility to choose between the following options:
1) Standard installation - if you have original game with NO texture packs
2) Standard installation with HQ textures for weapons - for original game with NO texture packs
3) Installation for game WITH Argus texture pack
4) Installation for game WITH BOTH Argus texture pack and creatures pack.

Tricking the registry should be ok, unless you have got some remains from a previously installed mod. This problem has been experienced quite often and may lead to any kind of trouble. Better to completely reinstall. It's just a matter of having two beers (aka "half an hour) :D And no more trouble, it works fine. And it really does, I assure you.

Try uninstalling the game completely (deleting the folder manually may be required) and then reinstalling it, preferably a not patched version. Apply the 1.0005 patch and try again. This helped in my case, actually.
As for a german translation... Wow! That'd be extremely nice! But don't be in a hurry with translating the mod. Make sure you enjoy playing it first! ;)
