Small learning curve, but once you get into the mindset you don't wanna go back :D
This will be our game engine for the foreseeable future as we're having a really great time with it. Plus it's open-source making it very flexible, aside from the flexibility it already has. Plus the dev team are all very based, hardworking people.
Godot 4 really stepped things up a few notches. Loving it!
The factions are great fun, with all the various ships and abilities and the content is overall pretty great. I love the polished music from the Armada games. Quite impressed with the work put in the assets!
However: there are some really annoying issues that I keep experiencing that really take away from the score:
- The pathfinding of the ships breaks sometimes, causing them to hump a planet or take a very wierd detour when warping. Mind you that this hasn't happened once in the vanilla Sins game, so it has to be the mod.
- The AI seems really imbalanced, they just plow through my capital ships like it's nothing. Yet when the AI plays with those same ships they are seemingly immortal. And this is the Easy AI.
Also a minor issue but: How do you quit the game? This is maybe me being an idiot but I don't see a 'Quit' button anywhere and have to close the game through Task Manager.
always found Blender's visuals to be impressive, now combined with a game-engine this has become a really powerfull tool.
loved this game, played it for many many hours!
The only con was that the gameplay would bet a bit repetitive at times and i noticed some minor scripting errors in the final missions.
nice game, cool graphics too.
