edit: demo didn't work but i've just seen minimum specs on your homepage and I don't meet them. Thought that might be the cause.

Surely that's OpenJDKs problem? It works with Java Standard.

Just tried the demo and this is looking very good. Combat seems a bit skill-less at the moment, with the bat at least, for my liking but everything else is looking very nice. Good luck with future development. And sorry to hear about the burglary :( scumbags.

Have to agree with comments here about price. £15 for an alpha!? And no demo? I think I'll stick with the very good open-source alternatives for now (eg. UFO: Alien Invasion).

Very interesting premise. Hope to see this continuing. Looks good so far and interesting too. Best of luck.

HD (High Definition) as it's name implies is _ABSOLUTELY_ to do with resolution and nothing to do with 60+fps. All TVs in USA and Asia, and many in europe have had refresh rates of 60fps since they were invented. PC monitors since the 1990s have had refresh rates of up to 100+hz.

High Definition basically means anything higher than standard definition, which for TVs is anything higher than 480 vertical pixels for NTSC or higher than 512 (-ish) for PAL.

Before you start your pedantic crusade of righting 'wrongs' you should perhaps find out if you're right.

Nice little demo.

Critique? Would echo the sentiments about being able to rotate camera about the character. Maybe even a little bit of zoom with the mouse wheel? I find games where I have control over my camera to provide a greater sense of immersion for me, no matter how well done the 3d is. Eg. even if the draw distance was only the size of what is displayed for the fixed above camera. However it still looks nice the way it is and I can understand why you went for that retro style.

Also personally I prefer a nice simple wasd and mouse control method, but i do like the analogue-style movement speed with the mouse so i suppose it depends on your gameplay. If sections would require you to have fine control over character movement speed the present way is best.

Anyway best of luck. Looks nice so far. Personally I like the graphics as they are. :)

Oh and my fps is pretty consistantly above 30fps but it still seemed to run ok.

LOL!
Good one. Like the music. Where'd you get it?

Fullscreen would be a nice option tho' as would the ability to move around with WASD instead of the push scrolling you have going on at the moment. Top. LOL!
