Mod review

For me as a stealth and occasional non-lethal-take-down player this mod was all about AI and related improvements.

Improvements that include better fov and vision range for AI, a brand new stealth skill, no longer being invisible while hacking, cameras that spot bodies on the floor, alarms that just hurt more etc.
While the original vanilla made me feel rewarded and almost patronized for taking the stealth approach this mod made me work for it. Sure there are still instances where the AI just looks bad, but it's a lot less frequent than vanilla.

I really like that the stealth skill does a different thing on every level instead of just changing a single value. So on level 1 you get to land more silent from height (simple but very useful) on level 2 you run more silent overall and on level 3 you can get closer to an enemy without being seen.
I prioritized mastering lock picking and still had to think before picking a lock - I'd say as a master lock pick you get to open 45% of all movers. Yes lock picks are rare yet it feels balanced.
The additions to the maps were just enough to keep me looking for stuff instead of going through them in my sleep - without changing the overall feel of the locations.

Why Deus Ex after 14 Years? Small Episode from my (GMDX) playthrough: Remember that super freighter you have to scuttle? I was able to bypass everyone below deck except for one sailor which I had to knock unconscious. But I didn't just leave him there, I carried him to safety all the way up to the dock.
It wasn't the first time I scuttled that freighter but this time around it suddenly hit me: wait a minute - why use non-lethal weapons here, everyone that's unconscious when this ship is going down will drown anyway...
Which makes it all the more annoying that the game made me launch a nuke at Area 51. Might as well have burnt every single pawn alive with the flamethrower...
Still Deus Ex is the only game I know that inspires such (borderline obsessive) reasoning.
