Got the same problem... Looks like it happens if an Emission occured. The NPCs around me die, or turn to zombies, or rip appart, depending on what option I select.

1. Even if you play as a Monolithian, there are a few locations where the other Monolith members turn against you.
2. I'm not sure if the updates and artifacts that give you "Armor" (buletproof I supose) don't actually work...

I don't know if these bugs were fixed with the 1.4.04 patch, but I'll tell you about them anyway:

1) When you leave lab X18, the Military will attack you even if you are a Scientist. Shooting them will result in reputation worsening.
2) After fighting in the arena, sometimes you must start the conversation multiple times with Arnie to get the prize, and after fighting the burer, he won't give you anything (you'll get a message telling you that you received 0 RU).

Oh, I was so excited for finding one at the start of the game :)).
