Website link should be fixed now. The forum URL was moved in preparation for our BF3 switch upon its release. And the administrator in charge of the DNS redirects was away.

If you get the installer program. It will allow you to download and install the currently released maps.

I apologize for the delay in response, I have been on vacation for the last week.

At the moment, we do not have any public servers up. It is cheaper to rent private ones. And they require passwords. If you head over to our forums, & sign up, you can get all the practice information. Then attend a practice, see if the mod & community are for you. If not, you can leave.

As I've said before, it is free to join up.

Well join back up! We're in our last BF2 campaign prior to switching to BF3. We're going to be playing right until the release. Then have a couple of week break for people to get used to the new game. Then right back into live fighting.

It's not really roleplay. It's a co-operative team based tournament. We have 2 teams *Divisions* set up along military lines. And while there is a chain of command & rank structure, we're not obsessive about it. We don't require people to salute, nor call their COs & NCOs sir, or sarge.

The military structure is there because we've found it the best way to organize and provide a competitive battlefield. SO it's clear who's in charge and you can get a coherent strategy applied.

As for the single-player experience, we have created and developed the mod for our tournament's use. That is where all our energy is directed. So rather than spend time on something we do not use in our tournament, we are focused on continually improving the game experience for OUR players and our tournament. Balancing equipment, bringing in new equipment, adding new maps & options for the players, etc.

This minimap image is from an old campaign when the US was fighting the Iranian army. In our current campaign we have the Russians and US fighting.

There are some minor changes in equipment loadouts. But everything else is the same.

Yes the mod is multiplayer only. It is primarily designed with our tournament in mind, but we've released it to the public so they can see what we're offering. All equipment is balanced versus it's opposing side's equipment.

Anyone can join up in the tourney, it's free to play. And we've just started a new campaign. So now is a perfect time to join up.

Don't use that .cmd. Copy your BF2 shortcut on the desktop and rename it to 21cw. Then right-click on it and in the target line, after the second " mark add the following +menu 1 +modPath mods/21CW

Make sure there is a space between the " mark and the +menu

There is a map pack included with the download. We release new maps on a weekly basis during our campaign. Otherwise, I can't help w/ "Why not working?" I need more specifics to help you out.

We have fully functional British, Chinese, & Iranian armies. The generals get to pick their army for each campaign. And this campaign the Generals chose US & Russia. So that's what we're playing with this campaign.

Do you CTD when loading into the server? If so, apply the mini-patch at the following link: Myinternetservices.com

If not, or that doesn't not fix it, please come over to our teamspeak and I can help you more effectively than through these boards.

To me it's all a matter of consumer economics. I am a consumer, and I only have limited funds. If you want my gaming dollar, show me your product is worth it. OR let me return it if I don't like it. But that isn't a viable solution.

So let's figure out a better system than what we have now. Consumer and Creator workin' together.

A prime example of how NOT to do things are games like Homefront. Here we are ~2 months out from its release, and they've JUST announced a multiplayer demo!?

I pulled it down and played the Single player campaign for all of 20m (through the first scene) and decided I really didn't like it. I would have been livid if I'd just dropped 50 bucks on a game I disliked that much.

The other thing, I think, is that a lack of decent demos, shareware, whatever, actually PRECLUDES sales & pushes honest folks towards piracy. Even if it's just to test it out. I know if I can't find a demo for a game, and I decide not to pirate it to test it out. I'm not going to touch it until I do get a demo, or Steam has some redonkulous sale where I don't feel bad buying something I might not like.

All that being said, my above comments apply to games in the $40+ range. There is NO excuse in my eyes to pirate a game that's less than $20. It's only $20 and folks work hard to make that product. Plus if they're indie games, more of the cash goes to the people who made the game, and not various corporations. But indie game developers should still work on producing compelling, and informative demos that showcase their product to an interested consumer. But come on folks, in the end it's on 20 bucks.

For me it's simple. If you're asking me to invest 50-60 dollars in a product I CANNOT return then you better have a for me to see exactly what I'm getting into.

I liked the shareware system id used w/ Doom. They released the first third of their game for free. If you liked it, you could buy the rest. Or give me a demo that is the full game, but has a time limit built into it. Enough to get a solid taste of the game. ~1hr for a 6-20hr game, ~2hrs for 20+. That way I have ample time to sample your product and determine if its worth my investment. Whether there are bugs in it that render it unplayable, whether the story isn't interesting, or even if it's the best thing I'm played since <insert your favorite game here>.

Now I'm not asking all companies to do this. But there has to be a better solution than 1-2 level demos that only show you 30m of play in a 5 hour game. Or a demo with most of the compelling features disabled.

A prime example of doing something half-right is Rise of Flight's demo. You get 336 hours from signing up for the demo to play and then your account becomes disabled. But instead of allowing you to completely sample their game during that time, you can only do the training campaign, and 4 single player missions. If they had opened the career mode, it would have been a perfect solution to me. I of course am not touching on their pay for planes system just that their demo was almost a perfect implantation of the idea.

Airborne, Hooha, and Blackbird are all long-time players of 21cw. They joined to post comments to try to get the attention of Arma2 players when we were playing that mod.

I asked them to get on and give their honest opinions about the community and their time here.

Just come by and check us out at www.21cw.net

Great mod! One thing, in the Breach level if I stop or fail for any reason I have to jump out to the menu and back into the level to get the passcode.

What I mean is, I cannot just click to restart and then run to the terminal to get the code. I just shows up blank, unless I quit to the menu and restart the level from there.

Other than that awesome work! Can't wait for the commercial version, consider me camping out in front of the ticket office for it!
