This sounds like Bully but in Deus Ex, which sounds awesome, but it looks dead...
I hope it can still be done

Has anyone considered making a GMDX multiplayer or CO-OP addon? I've always wanted to try playing it but I dread uninstalling GMDX to play the multiplayer mod. Surely I'm not the only one who would really enjoy it.

Hey, I don't know if this is a glitch or if I'm missing something here, but when I'm coming out of the crew module of the submarine base, just before Simons shows up, I cannot get the door to open. The door is there but when I place my crosshair over it, it does not recognize it as an interactable object, and I have no way to proceed.
I installed v9.1 then carefully updated to v9.2 afterwards, and so far,
I have not run into any other gamebreaking bugs.
Do you know what may have caused this?

I have a question that I would like to ask publicly due to it's potential for backlash, and that is: Since mantling is such a useful, intuitive, and integrated part of GMDX, do you believe you will be editing the layout of any maps to play better with the feature? I ask because I've noticed that you've developed the mod with the idea that some purists would want to play the game without mantling, which is good and all, but kinda comes with a nasty side effect, and that's that playing with mantling enabled really makes crate stacking obsolete in many ways.
Take the first level for example, in that little underground room with the generator between a forklift and some boxes. In the original game, you had to stack a crate and/or stand on the forklift or use a multitool to get past the generator unharmed, now with mantling enabled, all you have to do is mantle over the generator and you're all set. This also applies to the large shipping containers on liberty island, where in the original game, you had to pickup and stack the metal boxes to get up onto the roof, and now, all you need to do is press space.
This is just food for thought, I don't expect you to take on yet ANOTHER change before V9.0's release, but I'd like to hear your and the community's thoughts

True, the vanilla name does have some charm to it, I was just thinking that something along the lines of a serbu shorty would be more accurate

On an unrelated note from the ADS, did that mechanic's helmet just shatter?

In my humble opinion, the sawed-off should probably just be renamed. It doesn't look like a saw even so much as touched it before or after it was manufactured, moreso with the vanilla design than with the new model.

Honestly, as much as I'm looking forward to v9.0, I want you to take as much time as you need to complete the amazing features planned. In the meantime I think I'll finally sign up for the public beta; after all, with all the criticism of design I've been putting up here, I might as well give my full support to development.
Bless your heart, kind totalitarian, you make deus ex all the more enjoyable

Amazing, thank you for looking into it. While you're at it, could you change the door at the start of the airfield level to be toggle rather than automatic please? That's probably the only problem I've had that you haven't fixed already

I half agree with this advice.
Sadly running away just isn't an option when they see you, since they don't ever seem to stop chasing you, at least in my cases with them. Also, those towers are almost inaccessible unless the bots are already dealt with.
Honestly my biggest hope is that the bots are just somewhat easy to avoid like in vanilla

I do agree, them being more difficult on hardcore is a good thing but at the same time, I'm not a veteran player, and I just don't have the ability to memorize the patterns of things I can't look at without being killed immediately.
I've also never had problems with those bots until using this mod, that's because in vanilla they were slow and avoidable tanks, but now in v8 they're not slow or avoidable, just fast tanks that you're kinda forced to use grenades on, and that just interferes with how deus ex is supposed to be played: Your own way

Interesting, I did not know that, I always thought you had changed it in some ways due to the red laser that comes out the front of some of them. Anyways, I'm glad to hear the movement speed is being dialed back already. Do you think you'll ever consider nerfing them in some ways unique to them? Like say having them take just a bit longer to shoot at or identify you? They are of course still very powerful rather early on in the game.
Thank you for your reply btw

Please pardon my seemingly unending stream of criticism, but I do have another problem I'm hoping you can address before v9.0 rolls out, at least if you see it as a problem as I do. Do you think you're going to nerf the commercial grade sentry bots in the game? Like the two you encounter in the tunnels and the very, VERY many that you encounter on lebedev's airstrip? These things spot me from behind way too many times for me to have fun, causing me to reload even if I do kill destroy them once they spot me, because it almost always feels like they spotted me unfairly, like from a giant distance away or while they're looking away from you or when you legitimately cannot see them at all. This, needless to say, causes a great deal of righteous indignation against the game, and alot of confusion when Paul shows up and says "I underestimated your abilities".
When I played vanilla dx, I always thought he meant that I performed well, much better performance than was needed to reach him, or that I got there before he expected me to, but with this mod installed now, I always get the feeling that he expected me to die! Not something I really expected from JC's own brother.

Long story short, sorry for the wall of criticism, although I know you're an awesome enough mod maker to take it positively, if nothing else sorry for not bringing up this criticism I've had earlier; and thank you again for your time and this amazing mod!
PS: Loving the new weapon designs

Exactly what I mean, I for one, would welcome the implementation of a sort of ammo locker or display case on the table with a lock that disengaged when a player gives it money, that sort of thing would be awesome in my opinion. Of course, this is your mod, and I know you aim to keep design in line with vanilla, so it's up to you and the community as a whole whether this change would be justified. This is just my two cents, as in this part of the game, you are kinda hurtin for ammo especially if you're in the business of eliminating all the mj12 troops that storm around you.
(EDIT) I also think I may have experienced a bug, where upgrading the infolink aug doesn't show my weapon accuracy at all times. I don't know if this is a glitch, or if I'm just reading something wrong.

Yes, I understand that now, and sorry I honestly should have checked the thread before making this comment about the ammo as you've explained it in a previous post. Although I was more referring to a lack of ammo when playing a committed combat role that probably wouldn't explore nearly as much as a sneaky, kleptomaniac would, but as stated, you've taken care of that, and I thank you for that again.
While on that topic, have you considered letting the player buy more ammo from smuggler's den? I loved the market outside of the Lucky Money, but it was locked off by an alarm which I loathe for turning all the police officers hostile. I'm hoping that smuggler may sell ammo, even if only when you come to hell's kitchen for the last time, when the ai all close in on your position. Do you think this would be a good feature down the road?

Oh thank you, I'm very glad to hear that, and sure thing. I've only found it recently on the steam discussion board so I haven't even had a chance to try it out honestly, very glad to hear nv will regardless be fixed in v9.0

I love this mod, and can almost not play without it, save for the fact that it removes alot of ammo drops from crates, far too many for me to get behind as it really renders loud rambunctious gunplay as non viable since you'd almost always run out of bullets before even half of the enemies are down. This was especially apparent with the very low damage assault rifle, even when I was only making headshots.
Other than that though, and the fact that night vision doesn't work and the fix I have isn't compatible with this mod, I love this to bits, a perfect mod in my opinion.
