Is that the place where we are attacked by respawning pit drones? Because if yes, then this area looks way smaller than the original one. It looks good, just too small.
Something just occurred to me; I think it looks small to you because you're assuming the camera is at eye-level in-game. This is a floating shot, i.e. it's higher than the player height and makes things look a little smaller than they actually are.

i can see the room is large, as you can see on those barrel, just compare the player's height with that barrel
