Cool guide. A tip I would share for developing music for a game is to engross yourself in its world. Being familiar with the mood and atmosphere is critical to getting accurate sounding music. I purchased a video player plugin for my music program. I have the developer take video of the in game interaction so I can compose directly to the experience the gamer would be having. Accurate cues and more importantly accurate sounding music for the time, environment and event is a big deal as well.
