When launching there are three options "Play, Play 32Bit, Play 64Bit", but only "Play" seems to actually do anything. Got through lvl10, lvl 11 and 12 were insta-win levels, then the game crashed. It was fun while it lasted :)

Tried it again, no crash. A bit unfortunate how short the tutorial level was since the first level is unplayable. This game would really benefit from some antialiasing.

I loaded level 1, I could look around, but I couldn't move. Then I loaded the tutorial, got to the crouching bit, then it crashed. Oh well, I need to get back to work anyway.

I had already read about Desura basically being a free mirror. Would be nice if Humble Bundle and Desura could work out a deal where any games that were purchased via Humble Bundle, Humble Bundle would pay the bandwidth costs on them (they already do that for direct downloads from their site anyway). I'm not sure how Desura updates games, but if it's a delta type of thing, it would be cheaper for Humble Bundle to recommend Desura over direct downloads (though Bittorrent might be even better bandwidth wise).

I think part of what motivated me to buy HiB3 was because I was using Linux and it felt nice to have some native games (and they were rather creative games). Indie games aren't very common (or at least well known) and even less so for Linux, then there's the problem that a lot of Indie games aren't very good (I liked most of HiB3 btw). On the otherhand AAA games have high awareness (hype) and usally are of good quality (ignoring DRM). The problem for me was that I prefer to pay at least $5 per game I am getting, but I was only interested in a couple of the games and I wasn't even sure if I would like them, however being available on Desura might have been enough to push me to get the bundle (or just buy the two I was interested in directly from Desura...).

Damn, I was thinking about buying Rochard, Vessel, and maybe Torchlight directly from Desura, but none of them are available );
I say "maybe" on Torchlight because it seems kinda generic and I already have Elder Scrolls (4&5) and Guild Wars (1&2) among others to fill my RPG cravings.

I realize there are a lot of drawbacks to Steam, but just like with Linux, I find the benefits to be worth it.
Steam Cons: Games require Steam to be logged into an account with access to the game. Login servers could stop working. Valve can take access to games away from anyone on a whim.
Steam Pros: Automatic updates. Convenient to buy new games. Downloads can be interrupted (normal HTTP downloads can be flaky about that). Many ways to interact with the community (chat, groups, forums).

And just to back up my example of something that isn't perfect:
Linux Cons: Hardware support isn't always there and if it is, it might be incomplete. Windows programs wont work without Wine and even then it's iffy. Programs available for one distro might not be available for another (at least not without some work).
Linux Pros: Fast to install. Package manager makes installation and updating of software quick and simple. Low resource usage. Fancy and potentially useful desktop effects (workspace cube).

I was considering buying it, but after seeing it wasn't available on Desura, I didn't feel like bothering. A game manager is just too convenient (eg updates).

Has Alien Arena been updated at all since 7.51? The change log only mentions the 64bit version of 7.51 being uploaded and when I looked at desura/common/alien-arena-2008/README, it says it is 7.51. Why has it gone a year and a half without an update?

How about letting users pick more than one and show [how many people voted for each thing] vs [total voters]. That would be much more informative.

Side note: I always thought something similar would be useful for determining the next president when more than two candidates are likely to win.

I've been finding indie games to be more enjoyable and grab my attention better than some of the blockbuster games I have, such as [Nightsky, Cogs, Braid, Trine, Osmos] vs [Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Halo]. I have plenty of time to play games and freebies tend to be indie, so I voted for indie games.

This was released two weeks ago on Desura?!? I'm so disappointed in myself for not realizing earlier :)

Is the Windows version coming to Desura? I'd like to have that option if the Linux port doesn't have support for multiple keyboard/mouse co-op. Would be nice if that feature was made more obvious (the fact it exists at all and which versions support it), since I didn't realize for a few days that Trine 1 didn't support it when I was trying to make it work.

Desura supports Mac? Neat. (not that I have a Mac, crossplatform just makes me happy)

I was disappointed and surprised that the Linux version doesn't support multiplayer using KB&mouse, yet the Windows version does. Hopefully Trine 2 will do it. I would be totally fine with using xinput in terminal to setup the KB&mouse pairs, though a gui tool could easily simplify this.
