Report RSS Missile Destroyer

Since I am currently modelling a carrier and I can't use image editors to save my life, I have decided to start updating the destroyer pair up to HW2 model standards. Since I am horrible with images and can't even get paint to work right for me, I will just be posting a changelog of what I will be changing on the model, reference pictures have already been posted.

Changelog-
-Adding Missile tubes on the side of each "Silo", as in the concept art. However, I will reduce the number of tubes to 8 per silo because of the HW1 32 missile capacity.
-I will round off all of the hard edges, due to taiidan architecture favouring curves over edges.
-Copy the engines from the carrier onto the missile destroyer, adjusted for scale of course.
-Add slight indentions where the grilles are.
-Adding the details on the top "fin"

And... that's probably all of the changes that are needed for the missile destroyer. The vanilla destroyer will be made after the missile variant, using the newer model.

I may have missed something here, so if you have any suggestions on what else I should add, let me know! Or if I don't know what I am doing, let me know that too. I feel like I won't be adding much, so if you suggest something it will probably be added to the model.

I must say, that no paint artist skills are required to make such a work. Just to know the basics of GIMP - cut, paste, select, paint it, draw a line to the reference )
I would advice you that it's better to learn the basics of GIMP then to model one more ship )) It would be more useful not only for the project but also for you.

One more stuff - if you're making smth then warn others about it. First, in comments, then in group news ("The Analysis" )), then in gallery with WIPs and ready works (just don't forget to erase WIPs from gallery then - you know, those, that have no comments or just useless - and replace with final variant), then - in DropBox ))

And yes - mb, it's very interesting idea to make 8 different silos instead of 1 of HW1. Like combining HW1 model and the original concept. Exactly such stuff I wanted to be thought of. We should discuss it in the group, I insist.

Btw, can we make smth like destroyer "chassis"? Like D'Sent was making his frigates - he made the body - futuristic taii frigate for the HW@, then for HW2TP he has taken off engine and nose; then developed the engines (with textures etc), and only thing that he had changed then was the nose. Can we do something like this for the destroyer to make it easier? Also, future modelers, who would make smth like Pouk's "R.E.A.R.M.", will be glad to have such material for easy new type of destr making )

I will be learning GIMP, I'm taking a little bit of a break right now though, when I get back I will be posting the probe with the older texture on it before updating it. It won't be long, just a bit of rest time, I'll still be checking the website.

I looked in the dropbox for the textures, but I could not find them, do you know if they were posted or not?

Nope, I don't know - I guess, not.
I think, you could ask BloodFleet for them - or at least of knowledge how to get them out.
