I will be learning GIMP, I'm taking a little bit of a break right now though, when I get back I will be posting the probe with the older texture on it before updating it. It won't be long, just a bit of rest time, I'll still be checking the website.

I looked in the dropbox for the textures, but I could not find them, do you know if they were posted or not?

Maybe an extended time defence field?

I had the idea that since the first game had defence fields as a "unique" unit ability, that it could be carried over to the 2nd game. I agree with the "jack of all trades" idea, but it seems like defence fields should be a big part of the taiidan fleet, and not sucktacular like the current defence frigate. Maybe the have the defence subsystem opposed to cloaking to show this?

I was thinking it could carry the unimproved torpedoes, maybe upgraded to be more effective against strike craft and worse against frigates.

I currently know how to texture, however I do not know how to use GIMP. I thought I was doing pretty well seeing how I learned to model only a week and a half ago. With that in mind, I am going to be texturing my own models, but I would like to perfect my modelling work first if that is okay.

For the new ships, can we have some amount of difference between the mod and Homeworld 1? As an example, I started to model the missile destroyer and noticed that it doesn't seem to have any bridge, or anything that even resembles one. Should I add one? I was thinking of making on that resembles the Vaygr style bridge. The same can go for frigates too maybe.

Also I apologise for taking the interceptor, I should have noticed someone was working on it already.

Furthermore can I have some of the textures from homeworld 1 and 2? I am having trouble converting them so some usable ones would work wonders. I am thinking of using a modified version of the Vaygr "lights" texture for some areas on capital ships.

My understanding is, about the 7th topic, is from the name it sounds like the hyperspace module is using a solid mass for energy induction, as opposed to a liquid mass. Possibly a very cold superconductor. Of course, I still have not gotten my physics degree so my observation carries no weight; just my best guess.

I have a few fighter-class ships awaiting textures, they have UV wrapping already completed. I have UV wrapped the probe, heavy interceptor, attack bomber, and the light interceptor will be wrapped soon. Where would I be able to upload the models for someone to texture? I have yet to learn how to use GIMP and I am interested in seeing what textures someone else could make for the models.

However, with the other angles in mind, how is it? I would post these on the main site, but I don't want to flood that section. I will be texturing these once I figure out how to use GIMP. (Unless there are more user-friendly image editors)

Furthermore, I think that the side panels are probably not necessary, but they add depth to the model.

That is how fat the actual HW1 bomber is, ill post the original model for comparison. The cabin is modified according to the texture and comparison to similar cockpits, specifically those of other HW1 models and Soviet-Era helicopters. The intrusions, are probably overdone, they were an afterthought. However, it is still actually shown on the texture. The wings are at the proper angle.
I will admit, it looks horrible without texture.

It is currently at 609 polies, I'll mess around with the model and get the count down by removing unneeded shapes and adding the ones that you have pointed out.

I "may" have gotten carried away while modelling; however, I am thinking about going back and removing the sensors on the front and adding indentions for the grilles on the sides.

I have not seen it without textures, is there something there that you want me to see? Any suggestions on details I should add? I was attempting to keep it like the legacy version.

I have started designing a new probe for the taiidani fleet, however I only have 373 poly's in the design. Should I make the design more detailed or leave as is? I have the design posted on my profile, it is not textured.
